Exam Day
The exam day is a designated meeting time for the course. However, I am inclined to waive meeting on
the exam day if ONE of the two following conditions are met:
a. All students turn in all assigned work throughout the semester on time.
b. All students either turn in the assigned work throughout the semester or accept the 0 assigned for
turning work in late WITHOUT excuse emails or attempts to turn in the work late. SEE LATE
WORK UNDER POCKET SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR MORE INFORMATION.
If the waiver is forfeited, we will meet on the exam day for a final course activity. Failure to appear
on this day will result in 2 absences (due to the 2 hour time block given for exams) & a 10 point
deduction from your final course grade.

As students and teachers writing in a diverse, global, academic community, the University Writing Program is
committed to providing the tools and resources we all need in order to discuss, think about and become
agents for diversity and equity. Our lives, perspectives and practices are enriched when we actively engage in
discourse around complex ideas, whether they pertain to race and ethnicity; gender identity; political stance;
sexual orientation; special health needs; age; religion; country of origin; or socio-economic status. Through
the study of writing cultures, literacy and language practices, we prepare ourselves and our students to better
recognize the value of dierence and civilly address dicult discussions about diversity and equity.
The University Writing Program (UWP) recognizes that digital and online spaces provide valuable
composing resources. Students in UWRT courses use various technologies as part of their writing
practice. The UWP faculty are committed to protecting the privacy and intellectual property of all students.
Some courses provide opportunities for students to publish their work for online audiences, but students
are never required to share their coursework outside a closed university-sanctioned platform such as
Canvas or Google Docs. Any student who chooses to share their work on a public platform will provide
their instructor with written consent and will be provided options for safeguarding their privacy and digital
footprint. In addition, instructors and students are expected to adhere to best practices regarding the use
of social media in their classrooms as outlined on the following websites: UNC Charlotte Social Media
Best Practices.
Title IX Reporting
Please be aware that many UNC Charlotte employees, including all faculty members, are considered
Responsible Employees who are required to relay any information or reports of sexual misconduct they
receive to the Title IX Coordinator. This means that if you tell me about a situation involving sexual
harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, or stalking, I must report the information to
the Title IX Coordinator. Although I have to report the situation, you will still have options about how your case
will be handled, including whether or not you wish to pursue a formal complaint. Our goal is to make sure
you are aware of the range of options available to you and have access to the resources you need.
If you wish to speak to someone confidentially, you can contact any of the following on-campus resources,
who are not required to report the incident to the Title IX Coordinator:
Center for Wellness Promotion (wellness.uncc.edu, 7-7407). Additional information about your options is also
available at titleix.uncc.edu under the Students tab.
Disabilities Statement
Students who have a disability or condition, which may impair their ability to complete assignments or
otherwise satisfy course criteria should meet with me to identify, discuss and document any feasible
instructional modifications or accommodations. Please inform me as soon as possible after a disability or
condition is diagnosed, whichever occurs earliest. For information and auxiliary assistance, contact the
Disabilities Resources Center at 704.687.0040
