Appropriate use of Surface tablets and Galaxy tabs at Teaching Centre:

- Use separate sign-out sheets to sign out the Surface 3 and Galaxy tabs.
- Borrowers are obliged to take care of their borrowed devices at all times, e.g. to
avoid leaving them unattended, scratching the surface, or getting them wet.
- Devices may not be lent to third parties or taken out of the premises.
- Borrowers may not remove the charge/sync cables from the cupboard.
- During non-teaching periods, all devices are available for sign-out. Only one Surface
3 and/or a Galaxy tab can be signed out at once.
- For classroom use, a set of maximum ten Galaxy tabs along with a Surface 3 can be
borrowed.
- Devices borrowed for classroom use should be carried to and from the classrooms
only by using the designated carriers: shoulder bags for Surface 3 and baskets for
Galaxy tabs.
- All devices should be returned to the cupboard and put back to charge immediately
after class.
- Borrowers can keep hold of the Surface 3 if they have back to back classes in the
same classroom. The Galaxy tabs can be handed over to authorised persons to be
put back into the storage cupboard, if the borrower is in a rush.
- During teaching hours, a device can be borrowed only if it is not being used in class.
- Borrowers should not install, remove or change any settings or apps on any device.
- Galaxy tab booking can be done a week in advance through the booking sheet put
up on the cupboard door. Block bookings can be made as long as the tabs are used
each time.
- External memory sticks should not be used with any device.
- During break times the devices should be kept in the classroom lockers in locked
classrooms or brought down with the teacher.
