This may not work for everyone so please dont complain to me if it isnt working

for you at least im trying to help but this still works for me as of 9:30pm EST
NOV 21st, if you are having a problem PM me and ill try my best to help you out.
(I am in the United States so this may not work for anyone outside of the US but
hell give it a go)
1. Download SimPack (this will be used to unpack the game from the image file in
stead of razor's custom installer, ive heard this also works with thepirategay v

2. Now extract the files from UnPack.rar to wherever you like. Once done extract
ing right click on l4d2.bat and choose "edit" this will open the batch file up i
n notepad. you are going to need to do a small mod to these two lines of text
set SRC="Left 4 Dead 2_disk1.sim"
set DST="Left 4 Dead 2"
you need to make the first line point towards your dvd drive if you burned the i
mage or towards your virtual drive if you have the image mounted. And the second
line needs to point towards what drive you want the game to be unpacked to.
EX:
set SRC="H:/Left 4 Dead 2_disk1.sim"
set DST="I:/Left 4 Dead 2"
EDIT: now go ahead and run l4d2.bat (as administrator if on vista or win 7) the
game will unpack
3. Use this crack - http://rapidshare.com/files/309197852/l4d2_fix.rar
http://www.filefactory.com/file/a1dhegg/n/l4d2_fix.rar extract the files to your
main left 4 dead 2 directory overwrite when prompted to.
4. Install Steam(if you dont already have it) and create a new account.
5. Start Steam and click to install Left4Dead 2 DEMO. Wait until 1% completed an
d then stop/pause it.
6. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2 demo\
left4dead2\bin and copy Client.dll <-- that one was created for your machine onl
y.
7. Paste Client.dll to X:\path\you've\unpacked\left4dead2\left4dead2\bin
8. Navigate back to X:\path\you've\unpacked\left4dead2 and right click o
n Rev.ini and choose "edit" this will open the file in notepad, allowing you to
change your player name
9. Set system date to October 29th or November 17th 10am or earlier (for me it w
orked with Nov 17th, but if it doesnt work for you try the normal date or the OC
T 29th one i would say try Nov 17 first).
10. Start Steam log in with the account you made (do not use your main account
so it wont be banned) under the "My Games" tab of steam click "add a non-steam p
roduct" and choose "RUN_L4D2" you may have to click browse and manually choose t
he file from your main Left 4 Dead 2 directory .
11. Go ahead and launch the game from steam, it will seem as if it has frozen on
the loading screen we all cant get past (if instead of a normal mouse cursor on
 this screen you get a loading icon just hit the ESC key and you should have a m
ouse cursor), just ALT+TAB out click OK on the error that has popped up ALT+TAB
back in and you should be at the main menu! (NOTE: you wont always get the error
if you dont just ALT+TAB back in)
12. If you are at the main menu I would recommend running peerblock or just disc
onnecting your internet while playing for now (that way valve wont see that you
are lauching through steam)
13. Enjoy! all melee weapons are working for me with no crashing and i played fo
r about 3 hours with no problems even ALT+TAB in and out it it was fine for me.
