Subject: The Philippine Province Roadmap

After more than four years of prayerful conversations at various levels beginning in the time
of my predecessor, I am very delighted to approve and promulgate the Philippine Province Roadmap
(see attached document). This is essentially the fruit of discernment as we have persistently asked
what more the Eternal King is inviting us to do and become. The Roadmap is an apostolic plan to
inform and guide our Jesuit ministries and communities over the next five years. It will also serve as
an invitation for our mission partners to pursue shared values and strategic goals with us.

I ask ministry clusters, individual ministries and Jesuit communities to give ongoing and
serious reflection to this apostolic plan. I further ask them to appropriate and translate its aspirations
into concrete realities. By the end of November 2016, I would like all Directors of Work to send me
a report on how they have aligned and intersected their own apostolic plans with the Province
Roadmap.

I am deeply grateful to the members of the Commission on Ministries led by Fr. Karel S. San
Juan, S.J. and the Mindanao Conversations Executive Committee chaired by Fr. Joel E. Tabora, S.J.
for all the hard work that made possible the realization of this apostolic plan. The annexes to it will
be finalized in due time.

As we anticipate the Solemnity of Pentecost, we pray that the Holy Spirit may take
possession of our lives and ministries so that we can better serve the Lord alone and the Church, his
spouse. As the Church came to life through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, may we as a
Province also experience real rebirth in our communities and ministries.

I commend you all and the works that we do to the Holy Spirit.
