Course Hours Location Brief Description of Experience
In this experience I worked with a second grade class of about 20 students. At this experience I observed the Hillcrest teacher and children in their daily classroom routine. I had 8 ECE 150 Elementary, the chance to participate in assisting the children during hours Brookings, SD art, reading and math. Working both in large group with the whole class as well as one-on-one with each student individually. I worked with many different age groups while at this Childrens field experience. I had the chance to work both one-on- 8 Museum one with different children that visited the museum while ECE 150 hours Brookings, helping with crafts as well as other activities. I also got the SD chance to work with children in small groups while stationed at different parts of the museum. During my assistant teaching experience I had the opportunity to work with five student teachers and three Fishback Early assistant teachers to provide care and an educational Learning 120 experience for eighteen children. The childrens ages ECE 328L Center hours ranged from 3 to 4 years old. My responsibilities included Brookings, assisting with the planning and implementation of lessons, SD assessments, documentation, classroom management and parent communication. I completed two 30 minute observations in different Fishback Early classrooms. The first observation was in the toddler (3-4) Learning lab and the second observation was in the SDSU ECE 372 1 hour Center Kindergarten. These observations allowed me to look at Brookings, the classroom as a whole as well as focus on one child in SD the classroom and document their development. In this experience I observed and helped in their infant two Peace room. There were 15 infants and 4 caregivers and the Lutheran childrens age ranged from 8 months to 14 months. I was 15 Early ECE 371 able to assist in feeding, dressing and engaging with the hours Childhood children, by asking them questions, playing with them, Center nurturing them, holding them and bonding one-on-one Brookings, SD with each individual child. During my student teaching experience I was able to Deubrook create lesson plans, implement activities, assess the ECE 488 240 Elementary childrens development and growth, communicate with (Preschool) hours Toronto, SD families, and apply classroom management skills for a classroom of 20 preschoolers. ELED 395 45 Camelot This practicum took place twice a week in Becky Palmers Hours Elementary fifth grade math and social studies classroom. I had the Brookings, SD opportunity to teach five lessons and assist in the classroom as needed. My assistance included completing tasks such as helping with fieldtrips, guiding individual students with assignments, leading small group readings/discussions, co-teaching lessons, and grading assignments.
