Objective
To study Load Flow Analysis of Power System using ETAP 12.06.
Apparatus
Intel Pentium computer having ETAP 12.06 installed.
Theory
Load flow analysis program calculates the bus voltage, branch power factor, currents and power flow through the electrical system. The
program allows for swing, voltage regulated and unregulated power sources with multiple utility generator connections. It handles both
redial and loop systems.
When you click the load flow analysis button, you can see the following bar at right side of window.
Load flow text output reports (with an .ifr extension) can be viewed by any word processor such as Note pad, Word pad, Adobe Reader
and Microsoft word. Currently by default, the output reports are viewed by Note pad.
The text output reports are 132 character wide with 66 lines per page. For the correct formatting and pagination of output reports, you
must modify the default settings of your word processor application.
As a part of the multi-dimensional database concept of power Station, study cases can be used for any combination of the three major
system components, i.e for any configuration status, one line diagram presentation and Base/Revision data.
When you are in Load Flow Analysis mode, you can access the Load flow study case editor by clicking on the study case button from the
Load flow study case toolbar. You can also access this editor from the project view by clicking on the Load flow study case folder.
