ABSTRACT
This study aimed to describe factors low students discipline and obstacles
experienced in disciplining students in SD N Kepek, Pengasih Subdistrict Kulon
Progo District Yogyakarta Academic Year 2016/2017.
The study is a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of this
research is student in SD N Kepek academic year 2016/2017. The objects of this
research is factors causing low students discipline. The data collection are done
using observation, interview and documentation. Instrument in this study is
researcher by using tool of observation sheet and interview sheet. Data were
analyzed by using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. In testing the
validity of the data, the researcher uses triangulation tecniques and triangulation
of sources.
The result shows that factors causing low student discipline is the factor:
1) Teachers: teachers as role models for students still arrive late to school, 2)
Students: lack of self-awareness in complying with applicable rules as
undisciplined student attitudes in the classroom, students are late into the
classroom, and students who dont run picket, 3) Environment: disorder in the
school environment, noisy in the school environment because students bang on
school delimiter and from unexpected execution school environment. Obstacles
experienced in disciplining students from 1) Students: students are not understand
with school rules, students often contravene the rules, students are hard to tell, and
students pretend dont know, 2) Teachers: teachers are afraid to make students cry
if too disciplined, teachers condition are unhealthy, and teachers difficulty
caontacting students parents.
