By nature, we often view our own life through a telescope although we tend to center our
attention on others existence with a microscope. We focus on their failures, becoming then
self-righteous, overly critical, fault finding and even looking down.

However it takes humility to review ourselves and even more humility to consider the answer. In todays world,

modesty is usually connected with someone excessively submissive, self-doubting or inactive, but the beginning of
all knowledge comes from being able to stay humble and down to earth.

Regardless of various achievements, one knows that at times life can be such a struggle. And so, I believe that it is
essential to demonstrate our humanity and compassion towards others. People who stay humble in the face of
success are so experienced and self-assured, that they often seek to help others rise above their current level.

A Short Story about Humility

After 30 years of service, the driver of a successful businessman passed away. When he heard the news, the
businessman annulled all that he had to do and flew by helicopter to meet the drivers family for the burial.

On arrival, he took the same car that they would usually use each day, and then drove it himself from the drivers
home up to the burial place. When asked why, the businessman replied that his driver had served him day and night,
and the least he could do is being eternally grateful by driving him on his last journey.

Then the business man pronounced the quintessence of a successful humble life in all aspects: Everyone works
and makes money, which is nothing unusual, but we should always be grateful to the people who contribute to our
success. This is the belief, which made me do, what I did.

To Be Humble
You see, being humble and down to earth is not a weakness; most successful people are very resourceful because
they just do not feel that they have to brag or show off, but instead, they let their successes speak for them.

But to those who feel impetuous and think that everyone is privileged to know them, I would say only one thing:
Humble yourself or life will do it for you. It is no joke!

Something very beautiful happens to people when their world falls apart. A humility, a nobility, a higher intelligence
emerges just at the point when their knees hit the floor Marianne Williamson
