JERUSALEM, Jan 19, (RTRS): Benjamin Netan-

11 years as Israels prime minister, but this year his
political future is being called into question as seldom

Police say they have questioned Netanyahu twice

Netanyahu, known to supporters and opponents as
Bibi, has denied any wrongdoing, saying repeat-

No charges have been brought.

Prosecutors have conrmed
almost none of what has

The leaks, though, have
Netanyahu fuelled opposition calls for him

12 must-see indie

LOS ANGELES, Jan 19, (RTRS): The Sundance Film

greatest indie films ever made. The likes of Reservoir

There are a number of films that are already gener-

exhibition by Kuwaiti artist Ghadah Alkandari
will run until Feb 22.
Ghadah Alkandari is a Kuwaiti artist born
in Delhi in 1969. In 1992 she received a BA
in Mass Communications from the American
University in Cairo. But it was a six-week
painting course at the School of Visual Arts
that shaped my current painting style, which
was also inuenced early on by both clas-

Modigliani and Klimt, and comic books: Mad

Her body of work ranges from large-scale
acrylic paintings, primarily gurative, explor-

familial complexities, to smaller intimate pen
and ink surreal drawings detached and focused
on everyday happenings.

DENVER: The federal govern-
ment asked an appeals court
Wednesday to overturn an
order that bars the release of
endangered wolves in New
Mexico without the states per-
mission, a skirmish in a broader
battle over states rights and the
Endangered Species Act.
New Mexico and 18 other
states argue that the law re-
quires the US Fish and Wildlife
Service to cooperate with them
on how endangered species
are reintroduced within their
borders. Federal attorneys
counter that the law allows the
agency to go around a state, if
necessary, to save a species.
Many of the arguments at-
torneys made to the 10th Circuit
Court of Appeals in Denver on
Wednesday focused on the le-
gality of the court order restrict-
ing the release of more wolves,
not the broader issue of the
states role in restoring endan-
gered species.
But in hundreds of pages of
court lings, the states and the
federal government staked out
opposing positions on who has
the nal say.
The ght is unfolding amid
uncertainty about the future of
the Endangered Species Act.
Congress and the White House
will both be controlled by Re-
publicans who generally see it
as an impediment to jobs and
economic development.
