Benefits
Reduces Fraud
Chip cards provide better fraud protection than traditional cards when used at a chip-enabled terminal. Each card
has an embedded microchip that encrypts cardholder information and communicates with the terminal to
determine whether the card is authentic. This provides an added layer of security when making face-to-face
transactions.

I am currently out of the country and my account type is OFW ATM Savings. How do I replace my card?
Replacement may be done through your Authorized Representative at any domestic Metrobank branch.
My existing card is activated for international transactions. Will my new card retain the international access?
The international access of a new card is not yet active. Upon release of your new card, branch personnel will
activate the international access of your card.

Can I still use my new EMV chip card for online transactions?
Your new EMV chip card can be used for online transactions. However, if you have already registered your old card
information with certain online merchants, you will have to register again using the new card information. This
includes merchants that require the card number, expiration date and cardholder details (i.e., online merchants
like Uber or Spotify).
Likewise, if you have recurring payments already set up, please be sure to coordinate with these merchants with
your new card number and expiration date to ensure continuous service.

accounts and enrolled billers?
There will be no changes in your MetrobankDirect Online or Mobile Banking account. Access to electronic channels
