RESEARCH TOPIC/TITLE: Time Allotment and Learning of Bachelor of Physical

Education Students in major subjects of the University of
Mindanao
A. Description of the Project
1.Rationale According to (Baker et.al, 2004) time can be interpreted as a
resource and, as such, the amount of time devoted to the education
of children is often examined as a separate and central resource in
the educational process and instructional time is dependent on its
relationship to curriculum and instructional quality. Similar study
has been conducted that a finite amount of available task time is
taken up by managerial and organizational teacher directions and
relative activities, the remaining is divided between teacher
instructions about the subject matter and various forms of activity
and activity time would be that part of class time where students
actually are offered the chance to practice skills (Kirk et.al 2006).

These study will focus on the problem occurring in time allocation

on the SPE major subjects in University of Mindanao and how it
will affect the students skills and learning.

2.Objectives of the study

2.1 General This study will determine if there is correlation between time
allocation and students learning in SPE major subjects.

2.2 Specific Do the students develop skills in SPE major subjects based on the time
alloted?

Does time allocation affect the students learning and developing

skills?

4. Methodology This study will make use of the descriptive correlation method of
research.
According to Good(1995), descriptive correlation research
includes correlation tasks which present conditions concerning
the nature of the group of persons or a class of events which
involved procedures of analysis, classification, enumeration and
measurement. This method of research involves drawing forth of
information regarding current issues.
In this study, the researchers correlated the time allocation and
student learning in Team Sports course.
