Job Description
Position Purpose: The primary focus of the position is to design or modify mecha
nical engineering layouts/assemblies and/or detailed drawings/specifications and
product release; perform and document engineering tests and perform engineering
analysis.

Job Specific Knowledge and Skills:

? Good foundational knowledge on mechanical engineering principles, theories and
concepts.
? Knowledge necessary to perform job include: basic knowledge of mechanical engi
neering design, engineering mechanics and material science concepts and techniqu
es, including thermodynamics, heat transfer, measurement control, stress analysi
s, Finite Element Analysis, and system integration.
? Basic knowledge on GD&T, tolerance stack up and ASME standards.
? Knowledge of mechanical CAD tools.
? Basic understanding and utilization of engineering documentation, product rele
ase, change management.
? Skills and abilities to perform job include: good analytical and problem solvi
ng skills; good oral and written communication skills; customer orientation; pro
duct technology; computer literate; personal effectiveness; detail orientated; a
nd ability to work in a team

Job Responsibilities:
? Concept generation, design or modify mechanical engineering layouts/assemblies
and/or detailed drawings/specifications of moderate scope under general supervi
sion.
? Create fully parametric models/drawings/BOMs in Unigraphics using PDM TeamCent
er.
? Implement concepts for product issues and mechanical solutions of moderate dif
ficulty.
? Assist in development of mechanical product specifications.
? Perform engineering stress analysis (FEA) under general supervision.
? May be responsible for the design, development and implementation of custom me
chanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes to enable the handling, as
sembly and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assembl
ies throughout the product life cycle.
? In support of design projects, coordinate the procurement and assembly of mech
anical components/equipment and identify sources of critical parts and subsystem
s to resolve technical issues and supplier problem sheet (SPS).
? Effective use of engineering processes in the resolution of mechanical problem
s of limited scope. Troubleshoot a variety of moderate mechanical problems.
? Manufacturing process knowledge.
? Generate related ECO documentation for product release.
? With supervision, establish task priorities.

Tools Required:
Must Have:
? AutoCAD, Unigraphics NX5
? Knowledge on FEA tools like Ansys workbench
? Good at MS office tools
Nice to have:
? Other CAD tools like Inventor/ProE/SolidWorks/Catia
? Team Centre Engineering experience
? Oracle BOM, and/or Oracle ECO
