ASSIGNMENTS AND POINT SUMMARY

Module 1: Organizational Theory

Assignment 1.1 OD CORE COMPETENCIES Total 10 POINTS

ASSIGNMENT 1.1
Todays organizations face constant pressures to change -- the need to change is one of the hallmarks of contemporary organizations,
whether its a government entity, a private business, a not-for-profit, or an educational institution (Anderson, 2014). In this course you
are reading and learning about theory and practices of organization development to understand what kinds of interventions are useful in
what situations to make change possible. You are required to read all chapters in the core text, Organization Development: The Process
of Leading Organizational Change (Anderson 2014) to gain a broader understanding of the history and theory of OD to effectively
manage and implement change in organizations. After completing the required readings, measure your OD Core Competencies by taking
a simple online assessment located in Blackboard under Assignment 1.1-A Check-Up. This assessment will be graded automatically and
your score (up to 10 points) will be recorded in the Blackboard grade book. You are encouraged to work in teams and not wait until the
end of Week 8 to complete this assignment. No retakes of online assessment. (Copies of assessment questions located in Blackboard for
your review).
