W elcome to worship at Towson Presbyterian.

Visitors
and members are invited to become better acquainted
over a cup of coffee in Thompson Hall after the services. All are
asked to sign the Friendship Pad in the pew racks, noting any
special ministry needs.
Hearing Assistance, covering a variety of hearing impairments, is
available. Large print hymnals are available in the main Narthex
and the north Narthex. The ushers are happy to assist you.
Childcare is available for infants and toddlers in Noahs Nursery,
on the first floor of the Education Wing.

mother and grandmother and in honor of Shannon and Mary Jane
Obaker.
The rose in the Chancel is to celebrate the birth of Peter Andrew
Bashore, son of Cyndie and Tad and little brother of Joshua, on
September 19.

Friday Night Live on October 13 and November 10 - The Gospel
According to Jazz - Family friendly worship at 7:30 p.m. featuring
the Joel Holmes Jazz Trio, inspirational meditations and music.
Childcare for age 2 and under. A social hour follows on Oct. 13 in
the parlor with wine and cider and a chance to meet TPC artists
whose works are on display.

Gulf Coast Trip Sharing : Gulf Coast Mission Trip participants
will tell of their week-long June mission adventure today in
Thompson Hall right after church.
Adult Ministries Programs for the fall are described in the new
teal-colored adult brochure available in the narthex and in
Thompson Hall.
Kerygma Parable Bible Study: Books are on sale for Rev.
DeGarmos Bible study. Cost is $15.00 for the book. Identical
classes are offered each month, October - May, on the first
Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. and the second Tuesday
evenings at 7:00 p.m. No previous Bible knowledge needed.
Civil War history and family fun will be featured at TPCs
BeeTree Preserve in Parkton, Md. on Sunday, October 1, from 1:00
- 4:00 p.m. See a Civil War encampment, meet uniformed troops
and learn about a soldiers life. Enjoy the live music of Gilmores
Light Ensemble. Pony rides for children. Hot dogs, snacks, and
soft drinks will be available. Vespers service at 4:00 p.m. in the
Davis Pavilion. The public is welcome. A bus leaves TPC at 1:00
p.m. and returns around 5:00 p.m.
Mark Your Calendars: Bible 101 (Bible for Beginners) will be offered
on October 8 and 15 and November 5 and 12 in the Chapel. This
Old Testament series led by Chuck LaBerge will touch on the
canon and how we got it, literature of the Old Testament, and
other information youve always wanted to know. You can attend
one or all four weeks and still be informed. A 4-week series on the
New Testament will be held in the new year.
Lecture on Gospel of Judas - Craig A. Evans, an internationally
recognized expert on early Christianity and its environment, will
lecture at St. Marys Seminary on Monday, October 9 at 7:30 p.m.
on The Gospel of Judas. The lecture is free and open to the public.

TPC Golf Day at Pine Ridge: Rick Isphording has organized a


fun day of golf and fellowship at Pine Ridge Golf Course on
Saturday, October 14. E-Mail Rick (rick@calvertonline.com) if
you are interested in participating. Lots of fun, swinging/putting,
prizes, and swears/prayers in store for all! Cost: $80 per person.
King Tut in Philadelphia - Buy your tickets now! Join us for a
visit of the King Tut exhibit at the Franklin Institute of Science in
Philadelphia on March 10, 2007. Cost for the trip, including bus
and museum ticket is $52.50 per person. To reserve a place, you
must pay Kathryn Bojanowski in full. No reservation will be
accepted without payment. The bus will pick us up in the TPC
parking lot. Space is limited to 57 places. Tickets are selling

CHILDREN
Our littlest ones need you. Weekly volunteers offer care and
help to make our nursery safe and inviting on Sunday mornings.
Becket Gordon is our childcare coordinator and is assisted by
congregational members who are volunteers. Child care is
provided for children up to age 2 in Noahs Nursery. Signup in the
Nursery.
Young children, ages 2-Grade 1 may be dropped off directly to
classes. Room location signs are posted throughout the educa-
tion wing. Godly Play is provided for age 4, kindergarten, and
Grade 1 children on the main level of the education wing.
Elementary-aged children and middle schoolers begin in
worship and following the Time with Children, are dismissed to
the Education Wing for church school activities. The middle
school class meets in the balcony and leaves at the Time with the
Children.

YOUTH
Middle School and High School Youth Fellowships have
started! Octobers theme is Caring for Creation. Friday, Oct. 6,
meet at TPC for supper, movies, discussions and activities around
the topic of "Global Warming" and what we can do. Oct. 20,
experience creation through a cornmaze or hayride outing.

High School Forum - By popular demand, the High School
Forum is going to twice a month this year! Join Mark Taylor,
Emily Wilkinson and high school youth in discussion, bible
study and sharing using the book ,Way to Live, as a resource.
Next meeting Sun., Oct. 1, 11:15-12:30 in the Youth Room, 3rd
floor.
Open Gym Night - Middle and High School youth and adults
are invited for recreation in the gym on fourth Fridays. 7-8:00
p.m. for volleyball, 8-9:00 p.m. for basketball. Ping-pong, air
hockey and fussball are available throughout.

MUSIC
This Week Only - Childrens Choir (grades 2-5) will not meet
this morning. Parents are encouraged to accompany their
children to the Gulf Coast Trip Sharing in Thompson Hall.
Childrens Choir will resume on Sunday, October 1.
September is Join the Choir Month! Music is an important part
in the life of Towson Presbyterian Church. For more information,

Towsontowne Teen Choir (grades 6-12), Sundays, 5:00-6:00
p.m. It starts October 1! The Choir sings for worship and has
sung in Choir Festivals, most recently in Toronto Canada. Plans
for a Summer 2007 Choir Singing/Mission trip are underway.
Childrens Choir (2nd-5th grade), 11:15-12:10 p.m. Childrens
Choir offers choristers an opportunity to further their music and
leadership skills in vocal music.
Cherub Choir (PreK-1st grade), 11:15-12:10 p.m. Cherub Choir
introduces foundational musical concepts through the use of folk
songs and games.

MISSION
Response to War in the Middle East: Contributions toward
Presbyterian relief efforts should be made payable to Towson
Presbyterian Church, with the memo PDA, Middle East,
DR000081. Prayers are also welcome!
