PROJECTS

Customized Linear FEM Solver Application Mar 2017- Present

PyFEA, https://github.com/SambhavFEA/PyFEA
Coded and developed pre-processing (assembly, element stiff) and solver module of 2D linear FEM solver from scratch in Python.
Designed a unique GUI to provide touch capability in mesh creation process. Tested the code with various benchmark problems
from Abaqus and Ansys.
Currently working on developing Non-linear solver module and Structural Optimization Module for the system.
Hyper-elastic Material Implementation in Implicit Boundary FEM Jun 2016 -Dec 2016
Thesis Project, University of Florida
Developed a program in Java for implementing and updating Material Properties of Hyper-elastic Material in Implicit non-linear FEM.
Programmed Newton Raphson Solver in the code for solving problems with geometric non-linearity.
Created a linear solver and structural optimization code in Python personalized to test the Hyper-elastic material property code.
Tested the program with 2 benchmark examples and found converged solution from Abaqus, Simscale, Hyperworks.

Solar Car Team - Chassis Engineer Jun 2016 -Dec 2016

Solar Gator, University of Florida
Measured and recorded the vibration response and data of the frame with accelerometer for different track condition, slope, banking etc.
Using Abaqus & Ansys, performed modal & NVH response analysis to detect critical modes and best position for ribs and trusses .
Performed CAE analysis on the chassis considering different boundary condition to detect any stress concentration areas with Hypermesh
Non linear analysis of mechanical components Sep 2015- Mar 2016
University of Florida, Gainesville
Performed FEA analysis using Plane stress, axisymmetric and 3D elements on rubber seal inside a motor component considering material
and geometric non-linearity (Hyperelastic and Large Deformation). Software used to compare and convergence were Abaqus & Ansys.
Conducted a test to simulate the plastic nature of a cantilever beam. Non- linear elasto-plastic material property was used.

EXPERIENCE
Product Development Intern Jan 2017 Sep 2017
KFX Technology, Brooklyn, NY
Developed detailed design concept for electro-mechanical systems. A high speed slider for Virtual Reality cameras and a remote
controlled crane that mounts camera and provide required motion for taking a shot on film set, concert etc.
Performed Vibration analysis on main enclosure 3D part using Hypermesh NVH functionalities to iterate the design and find
resonance frequency. Detected structure borne noise direction and added mufflers in the position to reduce noise.
Developed and Validated boundary condition and forces on 4 critical CAE models by using strain gauge and load cells on 3D printed
prototypes with ABS material and performing physical experiments to verify results.
MATLAB Programmer May 2016 Dec 2016
Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure & Environment, University of Florida
Created scripts in MATLAB and block programs in Simulink for soil sensitivity analysis of FDOT database.
MATLAB scripts implemented Spectral Density, FFT to get frequency of soil quality variation on different parameters
Used Decision Tree model and Support Vector Regression to get quantitative results and appropriate simulations of the soil analysis.
