Note from the Teachers
We are thrilled to report that another one of our students
graduated last month. He accepted his diploma with
friends and family in attendance and we all celebrated with
delicious jalapeno poppers and chocolate brownies.
Mr Andersens graphic design class will be starting again
soon. This is such a great opportunity for our young men
to learn software applications like Photoshop to explore
more options with visual arts.
Foothill High is gearing up to begin using Naviance, an
award winning software platform which helps students
prepare for college and career readiness. We hope this will
be a great tool for each student to explore and organize his
future.
The 4th annual Untold Stories competition is coming up.
Weve done this competition in past years and it has been a
wonderful experience. In a nutshell, students write
personal narratives using less than 500 words to help them
learn writing skills and share their own personal story.
Entries are due Friday, December 1.

Upcoming CodeCombat Contest

We will participate in a software coding contest the week of October 16-20. For the contest, students get free
accounts through CodeCombat foraweek.Duringthattime,thegoalwillbetoseehowfarthestudentscanmove
through the coding game and curriculum. According to the contest website, students will be able to track their
progress against others on a nation-wide leaderboard. Please know that
each student will be given a unique username to participate so that
personal identities will be protected. Prizes will be awarded at the endof
the week for the top scorers on the leaderboard. Were excited to get
started. Thisisagoodopportunityforthestudentstogetacquaintedwith
coding and maybe even consider it for a potential career.
