Praxis Core Exam Analysis

Students who want to continue their Bachelors degree in education must take the Praxis

Core Exam. The Praxis exam can be taken before or after you transfer to UNLV, NSC, or UNR.

If the Praxis exam is not taken when you transfer to UNLV then you cannot take any education

classes. To continue my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education I must pass the Praxis

exam. The passing score for the reading section is 156, the writing section is 162 and the math

section is 150. Before I take the official Praxis Exam I must study the Praxis guides, take the

practice exams and prepare to take the official Praxis Exam.

I have looked over the study guides on the ETS. I read it a couple of times. I plan to take

some classes on how to pass the Praxis and I will buy some study guides online to help me study.

I also watched a couple of videos on how to prepare for the Praxis. I looked at the study guides

from Teachers Test Prep but I did not really go over it.

I did take the practice exam. In math, I scored in the 85% range, which means that Im

likely to pass the math section when I take the official Praxis Core Exam. I scored in the 41%

range in reading, which means that I will not pass the reading section when I take the official Praxis Core

Exam. I need to improve on my reading section to pass. In Writing, I scored in the 58% range, which

means that I will not pass the writing section.

To prepare myself for the Praxis exam I will be taking classes at CSN to review. I really need to

work on my reading and writing section to pass. I will be purchasing study guides online on ETS. I will

review the different subjects by finding videos that correlate with what I need to know in the Praxis exam.

I will review other materials that I have learned in the past. I will purchase an online prep resource to help

me review my math, reading, and writing sections. I also plan to purchase some practice exams to help

me study.

In conclusion, I need to work more on my reading, writing, and math sections before I

take the official exam. I will continue to work on studying the different skills needed for the

exam through different course materials and other study methods. By taking the practice exam I

was able to get an understanding of what I need to improve on, what are my strengths, and what

materials I need to review.
