On Monday the 2nd of May, Year Four will be Date: 2/4/2016 going on an excursion as part of their History and Geography unit. Time: 9am - 3pm The current unit that Year Four are studying in Cost: NIL History and Geography is looking at the Parent helpers : Yes importance of place and connection to land that is so deeply entrenched in Indigenous Australian cultures, and how this land was cared for. We will be focusing on local areas of interest and importance across the sunshine coast.

peoples and the long and continuous connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to Country/Place (land, sea, waterways and skies) The importance of environments, including natural vegetation, to animals and people The use and management of natural resources and waste, and the different views on how to do this sustainably
We have been lucky
enough to be able to secure a guide for our excursion whom is a part of the local Indigenous people, Nev Blackman. Nev has been giving tours of local Indigenous sites for years and has a wealth of knowledge for the studetns to draw upon.
