Rating one's own ability is highly subjective and because of this, innacurate. Standarized testing is,
in this case very helpful in derterming a person ability in something and in broad terms their skills.
To answer this activity and to be as objective as one can be, I will rely on the IELTS Academic
version results, since this one was my the last certification taken. Band 8 of 9 was the grade for
this test with the lowest number being on the wirting paper, one would grade one's overall
abilty in English with this score (1). It seemed strange to get that grade since vocabulary is
what one considers one's strenght in the language subskills(2), however the mistakes or
weakness were in spelling and semantics(2) rather than on vocabulary range. More preparation
would definetly had a larger impact on the average grade and specificly on the writting
paper(3).
