Materials needed: The facility that will be used during this unit will be the gym. This facility
will be utilized to with several badminton courts the boundary lines will be laid out using athletic
tape. Other materials that will be utilized will be cones, badminton rackets, birds, and badminton
nets.

1. Introduction (include time allotment)
Getting attention
Students will enter the gym and grab a badminton racket and find a partner and practice
hitting the bird a crossed the net. (5 min)
Relating to past experience and/or knowledge
Student will be preforming skill test over the serve today. The students are to recall the
proper way to serve in badminton. Which has be taught and the students have had time to
work on their serving skills.

Creating a need to know


*teacher will explain why todays activity is important
During their easement they will have to show knowledge of theses essential questions.
What side of the court do you serve on when the score is an even number and what side do you
serve from when your score is an odd number.
What side of the court do you serve to the same side you are standing on or the opposite side?
Which line does your serve have to cross in order for the serve to be a good serve?
How do you strike the bird when you serve over hand or under hand?
How do you stand when serving in badminton?

Sharing objective, in general terms


Todays class is about assessment the students will be asked to perform the skills that they
have learned and worked on though out this unit.
Content Delivery (include time allotment & instructional methodologies)
When students are waiting to be assed the students will play games to 15. When the game is
over the students are to find a different team to play against. Students will come as their team
to do their skill assiment. If the student is having trouble they can ask their teammate for help
during the assiment.

Closure (include time allotment)


Students will put their rackets and birds away get a drink and line up at the
door (2min)
