cancer cell growth and inhibit it altogether in some cases. Its a nice natural alternative to the

Nice post!

My auntie uses black seed oil and swears by it, but I havent come across something with
this much information about it.

Right now I mainly use multivitamins and fish oil as supplements, but this seems like it
will make an excellent addition in my kitchen!

Pretty interesting.. surprised I havent heard of this before.

It makes sense, with potent anti inflammatory properties it could be effective for a lot of
different things.

Where can I get seeds for a Nigella plant?

Hey Jonas,

Youre absolutely right. Its the anti-inflammatory properties that make it such an
powerful natural remedy.

Have you tried your local gardening store? They should carry some seeds (Nigella

Please do Glenn! I actually just bought this oil cold pressed and natural from a local
naturopathic shop as a recommendation from a friend about 5 days ago Ive been mixing
it in my oatmeal every morning. The funny thing is Imy trying it for basic anti
inflammatory reasons for congestion BUT Ive noticed a huge scar on my abdomen from
a surgery a couple months ago has dramatically shrunk within 3 days. Im shocked
because it always felt like a huge lump and not its soft, flat and smooth. O and Ive
definitely had more energy, sexual drive, havent been congested, and feel more calm and
balanced in a way. So with you being a new user id love to know your experience

I started taking the seeds, 2 x teaspoons, morning and night, just 2 weeks ago.. I heat the
seeds in a small pan and just as they show a little smoke coming off, I slip a tablespoon of
water on them, to prevent them from burning. When the water has all gone, and the seeds
are mostly dryish, I put them in a dish with a good teaspoon of honey, mix them well and
eat them.
My hayfever is gone now- I used to suffer in the winter with the birch tree pollen, and
then every other pollen coming in. My asthma is virtually non-existent now, even though
I have a virus at the moment (caught from husband).
So I can say it has definitely worked, so is worth carrying on with. Not the best taste in
the world, but hey.

rub some black cumin seed oil on your palms and massage onto affected area).

and promotion of overall good health is one of the main reasons millions around the word

Another interesting piece on black cumin seed oil I found below:

There are almost 200 million people worldwide suffering from diabetes, which is one of
the leading causes of death today. The root of this global epidemic can be traced down to
only one thing; your diet. Nearly 10% of the population in the United States is affected
with this disease and studies are estimating this figure to double by 2030.
The 2 main agents in black cumin oil extract (thymoquinone and thymohydroquinone) act
as powerful anti inflammatory and anti bacterial agents which have enormous medicinal
value. The extracts help your intestines inhibit the absorption of glucose, which has
proven to help prevent and treat diabetes. Studies have also shown that a daily intake of
black cumin oil has significant impact on your bodys glucose tolerance and overall
immune system health.

Hi. My name is Nik from Malaysia. I am a male, 30 years old. Last year around
september I was diagnosed as type 2 diabetic. The diagnosis was done when I went to the
hospital for a curbuncle in my groin area. I was so sad knowing that I am diabetic when I
still young. When I was discharged from hospital I was given a month of diabetic
medicine by the hospital.
Id never took the medicine and has took 2 spoon of black seed oil daily along with less
sugar diet. After 3 month my hba1c test shown that I am free from diabetic. The doctor
was shocked as I have reversed the diabetic which he thinks its impossible.

Till now Im taking this oil daily and enjoy less sugar diet. My sugar level is normal like
a healthy person.

For diabetic I am suggesting to take black seed oil and arabic gum (powder type dilute in
water) for sugar level control. You may avoid the diabetic drug slowly as it is high toxic
which may damage your kidney.

Hi Mr. Wade & everyone,

It took me few hours to read online in arabic about the black seed. Then to come up
with a copy from an online english summary regarding it. This is basically summs up the
interpretaion of what the Prophet Mohammed said about it by Muslim Scholars centuries
ago. I hope i can come up with what they have written on how to consume or use the
black seed.

Al-Bukhaari (5688) and Muslim (2215) narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be
pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be
upon him) say concerning the black seed: In it there is healing for every disease, except
as-saam. Ibn Shihaab said: As-saam is death.

There are two scholarly views concerning the words healing from every disease. It was
suggested that it is to be understood according to the general meaning, so it includes all
diseases, or that it is general in wording but specific in meaning, so what is meant is some
diseases.

Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

It was said that the words every disease refer to every disease that could be treated with
it, because it is beneficial in the case of cold diseases; as for hot diseases, it is not.

Al-Khattaabi said:

The words From every disease are general terms but what is meant by them is
something specific, because there is no medicine made from plants that could be used to
treat all diseases; rather what is meant is that it is healing for every disease that is caused
by moisture.

Abu Bakr ibn al-Arabi said:

According to physicians, honey is more likely to be a remedy for every disease than the
black seed. Nevertheless, there are some diseases that if a person drinks honey, it will
make matters worse. If what is meant by the description of honey as something wherein
is healing for men [an-Nahl 16:69] is that it is healing for most diseases, then it is more
appropriate to say that with regard to the black seed. End quote.

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

The words healing from every disease are like the verse in which Allah, may He be
exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): Destroying everything by the Command of
its Lord [al-Ahqaaf 46:25]. That is, it (the storm or wind referred to in the previous
verse) destroyed everything that could be destroyed, and the like. End quote.

Zaad al-Maaad (4/297)

Shaykh Abu Muhammad ibn Abi Jamrah said: Some people commented on this hadith
and made its general statements specific, referring it to the views of people who have
medical experience, but the one who says that is obviously mistaken, because if we
believe the physicians whose knowledge is based on experience, the foundation of
which is what is most likely to be right then to believe the one who does not speak on
the basis of his whims and desires [i.e., the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon
him)] is more appropriate [than believing the doctors].

End quote from al-Fath (10/145).

Al-Karmaani said:

It may be that the general meaning is the intended meaning, that it may bring healing for
all diseases, but that is on condition that it is put together with other ingredients, and there
should be no haraam component. Rather the general meaning of the text must be what is
intended, because the fact that an exception is mentioned indicates that it is general in
application. The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said it intending that
general meaning; the evidence for that is the fact that he made an exception. Therefore
we must accept that it is general in meaning. End quote.

Umdat al-Qaari (31/301)

The fact that the general meaning is what was intended is obvious, because the wording
indicates that. It is also indicated by the exception in the phrase except as-saam (death).
If the general meaning had not been intended, there would have been no need to mention
the exception. The fact that an exception is made for death indicates that for all other
diseases, black seed may be useful as a remedy, but that is dependent upon there being no
impediment and upon the conditions being met.
