INDIAN ASSOCIATION FOR THE CULTIVATION OF SCIENCE 2A & 2B, Raja S C Mullick Road, Jadavpur, Kolkata 700032 No, 12/823 June 27, 2017 OFFICE MEMORANDUM Since the scholars of CSIR and some other externally supported scholars will be getting their Scholarship through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Schemt with effect from May, 2017, their monthly contribution for the ‘Contributory Medical Scheme! (CMS) for the month of May, 2017 end onwards cannot be deducted from their monthly fellowships by the TACS. In view of the above, an arrangement has been made to receive their subscription, $0 as to extend Continued CMS benefits to them. According to the extant CMS Rules, contribution is to be paid in advance to be covered under the Scheme. Accordingly the CSIR and other externally supported scholars are requested to deposit their CMS contribution fer May ~ December, 2017 in lumpsum by this month, i., June 2017 to ensure continued coverage under the CMS. From the calendar year 2018 and onwards, the amount has to be deposited in the month of Decemebr 2017 and so on. If@ scholer leaves before @ calendar year end, s/he will get refund proportionately. Any scholar joining in the middle of the year, s/he will have to deposi on pro- ite basis for the rest of the calendar year. The deposit is to be made against Memo issued by the Medical Cell, as it is done for the pensioners, The Medical Cell may also keep a separate Register in this respect.
