Introduction

ABOUT THIS FACILITATORS GUIDE

This guide is designed to provide you the materials and direction to


successfully deliver the English For Communication course in a classroom
environment. It assumes the instructor has functional proficiency in the
subject matter.

This guide includes basic instructions , as well as materials to help you


prepare and conclude the course. Take note that it is only a guide.
Lecturers are encouraged to use their own creativity to present the
material.
Please read the course outcomes and course description in the KSKV
edited 2017.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This course is designed for vocational students in Year 4.

COURSE INSTRUCTION

INTRODUCTION TO ENGLISH FOR COMMUNICATION

1. Lecturers must have :


a. Silibus ( Table 3 )
b. Course Outline
c. KSKV (edited 2017)
It is imperative that all lecturers teaching this course understands the
documents above before conducting the course.
A SAMPLE RSL has been prepared. Lecturer can ADAPT accordingly.
2. Make sure every student has a copy :
a. Kertas Penerangan
b. Kertas Tugasan
c. Course Outline
3. Below is a SAMPLE of how the module can be conducted.

MODULE 1 SPEAKING SKILLS 12 hours MATERIAL

Instructions:
1. Lecturers should go through the notes given in the Kertas Penerangan as
it is where assessment on theory is based. However, students must be told
to read the notes during their learning time.
2. Key notes can be put on PPT.
3. Lecturers can also download from the internet and modify: Eg.
3.1 faculty.mu.edu.sa/download.php?fid=132114
4. Lectures should prepare lectures based on the course outline given.
5. Please refer to the Course Outline for delivering lectures. CO
6. Examples of other materials : PPT / Youtube / Website have been included
for lecturers use.
7. NOTE : Lecturer has to select material suitable for their own students.
8. Activities included in module can be adapted accordingly. Not every
activity has to be used.
9. ASSIGNMENT : INTRODUCTION : Brief students on the requirements of Kertas Tugasan
the assignment. Module 1
10. Adapt materials and activities according to students proficiency. However,
refer to learning outcomes as a guide.
