4.00 PURPOSE FOR WHICH THE MACHINE IS INTENDED
The machine is intended for carrying out rolling the sheet metals into cylinderical shapes, curve
4.01 shapes etc. meeting the stringent demands of high quality.
5.00 ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

The machine should be capable of carrying out rolling operations like- cylindrical shapes, curve
5.01 shapes etc. of sheet metal components made of MS, Alloy steels and other non-ferrous metals.

The machine should have sturdy and proven quality construction withstanding the extreme
5.02 working conditions and environment at defence industrial installations as mentioned below.
a) Supppy system : 415V 10 %, 50 3 % Hz
b) 3, 4 wire system
c) Line transients up to : 5000 V peak
d) Minimum temperature : 25 degrees C
e) Maximam temperature : 55 degrees C
f) Relative humudity : 95 % maximum
g) Air pressure available : 6 bar
5.03 The machine should have forged chromium steel rollers and should be machined.

5.04 The machine frame should be fabricated with suitable thickness steel plates and stress relieved.
5.05 The two rollers should have grooves for permitting sheets which are rolled

8.01 Electrical specifications

Electrical control gears/switch gear, MCBs, protection relays should be of
8.02 SIEMENS/TELEMECHANIQE/L&T/SCHNEIDER/LEGRAND/CG/HAVELLS/GE/BCH make.

Control wiring should be of 1100volts grade,oil & coolent resistent. Make of the cables should be
8.03 LAPP CABLE/SAB/FINOLEX/POLYCAB/HAVELLS/IGUS/Anchor only, confirming to IS/IEC standard.
Main power sources cables ,armoured copper with proper rating of size should be provided
from the shop floor power panel to machine control panel ( Approximate length :25 Mts.). Make
of power cable should be of GLOSTER/CCI/ASIAN/FINOLEX/POLYCAB/HAVELLS/Orbit only,
confirming to IS standards. Digging , excavation, laying, grouting, plastering and termination
8.04 should be carried out by the supplier.
Emergency stop button :-Emergency stop Buttons are to be provided to switch off the whole
8.05 machine at emergency condition.
Instruments:Electrical control panel should be provided with 3 phase, 4wire digital energy meter
8.06 accurcy class 0.5S with communication port.
Motors should be of SIEMENS/ABB/KIRLOSKAR/GEC/BHARATH BIJLEE/CG only. Degree of
8.07 protection should be in accordance with IEC ( latest ) standard.
8.08 Auto cut off in case of over load, Short-Circuit and phase failure shall be provided.

One 220 V AC 5 Amps multi pin socket should be provided in the machine panel for connecting
8.09 maintenance apparatus with facility to switch ON even if main switch/control is in OFF.

8.10 Indication lamps (LED Type) for ON / OFF status of machine to be provided in the control panel.
Indication lamps (LED Type) for ON / OFF status of all electrical motors to be provided in the
8.11 control panel.
8.12 Electrical earthing of machine
a) All electrical equipments to be well connected with proper earthing.
b) Two run bare copper wire /strip shsall be run along with power cable and to be connected to
panels and live parts as per IS standards.
c) Machine design to ensure proper earthing for the machine and its peripherals.
8.13 SCOPE OF SUPPLY
a) All the electrical items which are mentioned in the above specification should be covered
under scope of supply.
b) Any minor item which is inadvertently excluded will be deemed to have been included in the
scope of supply for complete machine.
8.14 Bidder to indicate the maximum power rating (in KVA/KW) of the machine.
Suitable input 3 phase power ON/OFF switch shall be incorporated in the machine to switch
8.15 ON/OFF the whole machine.
Detailed spare part list with complete specification, of all electrical items used in the machine
8.16 should be provided.

8.17 Technical details of all electrical items should be provided at the time of supply of the machine.
8.18 3 Sets of electrical drawing should be provided.
9.00 SPARES
The supplier should ensure that spares and service support to be made available for the
9.01 complete equipment after commissioning.
10.00 TRAINING
10.01 Training to be provided for the operators while commissioning the machine at HVF.
11.00 MANUALS AND DOCUMENTS
11.01 Operation Manual
Maintenance manual for machine having detailed assembly drawings and procedures for
11.02 dismantling and re-assembling for maintenance.

Details of complete spares part list including bought out items if any with full specification like
11.03 make, size, description/source of supply, quantity required etc. should be given in the manual.
12.00 PRE-DESPATCH INSPECTION
The machine will be inspected by GM/HVF or his authorised representatives at the suppliers
12.01 premises.
The supplier shall intimate the readiness of the machine atleast one month in advance
.Inspection call letter shall include pre-inspection reports of the machine carried out by the
12.02 supplier.
The machine will be inspected for proper functioning of rollers and rolling operations of sheet
12.03 metal jobs.
The inspection note (PDI clearance) will be issued after the machine cleared in inspection and
12.04 compliance.
13.00 DESPATCH
The supplier shall despatch the machine duly packed as required. Any transit damage is to be
13.01 replaced by the supplier at free of cost.
The supplier shall intimate about the details of despatch immdiately and forward the despatch
13.02 documents to HVF Avadi.
After receipt of the machine at HVF, the packages of the machine shall be opened in the
13.03 presence of the supplier and GM/HVF or his authorised representatives for identification.
14.00 ERRECTION AND COMMISSIONING

The supplier will carry out the errection works, civil foundation works of all the components of
14.01 the machine and will commission the equipment at purchaser's works with actual trials.
15.00 FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF THE MACHINE
The final acceptance of machine is based on the successful running of the machine for rolling
15.01 operations.
