Dear Mr Yann DELAURE,

I am writing to enquire whether you have any vacancies for a student training period. I am
seeking an internship in mechanics, hydraulics or heat energy.

I am currently a student at ENSE3 (Energy, Hydraulics and Environmental Engineering

Sciences), a leading French school in engineering, part of Grenoble INP (Grenoble Institute of
Technology). I am due to graduate in mechanics and energy. At the end of this year, I am
required to carry out a three-month placement at the beginning of June 2011, preferably in an
English-speaking country. Although I have been studying, I have had a number of summer
jobs as you could see from my enclosed cv, which have helped me to gain experience working
within a company. Thus, I would like to have an experience in a laboratory.

I think it would be an asset for my future career to do this placement abroad as it would
enable me to improve my English, gain knowledge working in your lab and it would be a
culturally enriching experience. Moreover, it would give me an opportunity to improve my
English as well.

My experience in mechanics, hydraulics, heat energy and human relationships would be a

good asset. I am hard-working, reliable and I enjoy working with people.
