PROJECT GUIDELINES

BATCH 2015-18
SEMESTER V

 Introduction

All students will be required to submit a Research Based project as part of their
course curriculum. The same shall be evaluated for 50 marks. The distribution of
50 marks shall be as follows :

1. For Project Report : 25 marks

2. Viva : 25 marks

It is expected that students pick up any one project, based on their choice, relating
to their area of specialization, and conduct original research on the same. The same
is expected to be done under the guidance of a faculty member. Consent of the
faculty member to act as a guide should be obtained in the format given hereafter.

Timelines for the project have been given below. No extension in the same will be
granted as marks are to be submitted to the SIU in time.

Please note that all project reports have Turnitin reports attached to them, without
which the same shall not be accepted.
 RESEARCH BASED PROJECT REPORT FORMAT

1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY (1 page) (Numbering of pages should start from executive

summary)

2. INTRODUCTION TO THE TOPIC (Not more than 10 pages)

3. BASIC METHODOLOGY ( about 25-30 pages )

Introduction of the Study

Literature Review
Background of the Study
Problem Statement and Importance of the Study
Objectives, Scope And Limitations Of The Project of the Study
Hypothesis Formulation.

6. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY ( about 10 pages )

1. Node of Evaluation : Will be based on Project Report and Viva.

2. Important : All Project Reports to carry a Turnitin Similarity Report of not more than
40%. Project reports exceeding this will be rejected.
3. Please select your internal guide faculty / visiting faculty members.
Important Dates : Will NOT be extended :

Selection of Research Project and Internal Research Guide 30th July 2017
Finalization of Research Topic 4th August 2017
Submission of 1st Progress Report 16th August 2017
Submission of 2nd Progress Report 31st August 2017
Submission of 3rd Progress Report 15th September 2017
Submission of Project Report 27th September 2017
Receipt of Turnitin Reports 5th October 2017
Submission of modified report if required post Turnitin 12th October 2017
Vivas Will be scheduled
accordingly.

Please note :

1. All projects to be done individually.

2. Viva will be by a 2 or 3 member panel.
3. All external material must clearly mention source, proper credits to be given.
