INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAWS

OBJECTIVE
The first and foremost objective of the course is to introduce the student to the general
principles of Intellectual Property laws and then help them in understanding the nuances and
its application. In other words the chief object of the course is learning & understanding the
fundamental principles of Intellectual Property Law. The main objective of this course is to
equip students with knowledge of various forms of Intellectual Property Rights and to create
specific technical, legal and management skills related to protection, infringement and
commercialization of respective Intellectual Property Right.

At the end of the course students should be able to determine what type of IP protection is
given to a particular subject matter, the manner of obtaining IP protection, the rights to which
the IP holder will be entitled.

From a practical learning point of view, students of this course will get exposure to manner of
prosecuting applications before appropriate authorities, responding to the office actions and
determining the nature of enforcement of IPRs.
