Whats New in the VOTANO Software Version 2.01?

The new 2.01 version of the VOTANO software offers new features including:

Support of 50 Hz frequency for the measurements according to IEEE standard

VOTANO update checker activated in PC toolset

1 Whats New in the VOTANO Software

1.1 Support of 50 Hz frequency for IEEE class voltage transformer

With the VOTANO version 2.01 it is now possible to perform measurements according to IEEE C57.13
standard with a rated frequency of 50 Hz. After selection of the IEEE C57.13 standard, the selection of the
frequency can be done in the dedicated field.

According to IEEE C57.13, standard burden designations (W-ZZ) are only valid for 60 Hz frequency. In the
VOTANO version 2.01, the values of the burden are not recalculated from 60 Hz to 50 Hz frequency. The
designations are considered to be valid for 50 Hz as well.
To test the voltage transformer for a specific (customized) burden independent of the standard burden
designations, the operational burden Sr as well as the power factor Cos have to be set to the relevant
values. The burden designation (Burden) will change automatically to CUSTOM or to a certain designation
(W-ZZ) if the criteria Sr and Cos are met.

The class assessment and the reporting are done based on the ruleset of the IEEE C57.13 standard.

1.2 VOTANO update checker activated in PC toolset
The newly activated update checker automatically looks for updates and informs you when a new VOTANO
update is available.
The update can be started automatically or the installation can be done manually after downloading the
software from the customer area.
During the installation process, the update checker can be generally enabled or disabled.
