THE PROJECT

The pavilion is a white rectangular block 16.5

meters on each side and 4.2 meters of height.
The interior space lacks internal support
elements.
diagonal columns and roof beams 5-10 tons;
ply-wood floor;
made in factory and composed in building site;
joints: screw and weld construction;
There are no doors or windows, but a continuous
surface that functions as structure and as
decoration
the design of the structure was developed, via an
algorithm of a square which expands while
rotating.

STRUCTURE
The support structure is provided by the
intersection of the lines, forming an
irregular Diagrid-single layer grid,
constructed from elements that can be
made of diagonal steel members.
The edges of the squares act as the main
structure, the secondary structure is
made by extending the lines of the
pattern.

The entire pavilion is placed on a double T-shaped
steel mesh with beams.
Above this grill is placed a plywood floor that is
"cut" by the wrapping lines of the box. Ito uses
the floor to also create a "break" effect on the
floor, by replacing plywood with lawn. One can
see the grass appearing through the ground, the
box is beginning to "disappear".
The lines of the plant are transformed into a steel
structure of 550 mm that envelopes the rest of the
pavilion, creating a depth between the exterior
and the interior.
CONSTRUCTION

The perimeter vertical elevation is made of steel

plates 550 millimeters in thickness, welded and
constructed completely in the factory, including
holes for the assembly.
