Macario Sakay

( Kilabot ng Siera Madre)

Macario Sakay was a former katipunero under Andress Bonifacio a leader of

katipunan he was under the custody of America Republic after the capture and surrendered

of our first president of the philippines known as Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo. Macario Sakay was

born on March 1, 1870 in Tondo Manila . And he was an a supreme leader of the new

revolutionary group and announced himself as the new president and general of this new

republic but Sakay was hanged on Friday the 13th of September 1907 on charges of banditry

and armed rebellion, along with Lucio de Vega. As the time must going on , Americans

recognized Macario Sakays group as a bandit which sees by the American as opposing the

government and everything they can throw at them. The same reason as the other leaders

wanted is the same idea of why Macario Sakay and his group began to fight against the

American government for the independence of our country.

In the play we have watched, we saw the struggles and hardship of our known heroes

because before the American Republic colonized the Philippines. Even though there are

things that the Americans contributed in our country and help us after the Japanese invaded

us we can never let go the fact that the reason why we our hungry on getting the

independence we want from these colonials. In the fast few years Macario did not get the

Independence because of the crime that he had made . Base on my opinion about Macario

sakays story that we have watch is about sacrificing herself to get the independence from the

Americans republic , but he is disappointed of what he had do because he did not get it .

Macarios Sakays life was not easy. He and his group was convicted there are many

social issues in the story that as of now still exist in our society. The reality of the

situation was that the Philippine-American War continued for almost a decade and this

revolutionary hero named Macario Sakay. I am amazed how he become motivated to offer

his owns life for our country. As a youth we are now have also the responsibility to

continue this legacy in which of fighting for our own rights and freedom. I am thankful as

well for what they have done on the liberty we are enjoying right now. The play was

performed well which the actors and the actresses brought us like we are in the same

situation before.

Therefore, this story is a must watch, from the story line itself. Yes , Because it

refers to the history of our country . That is why we need to give importance, that reflects
