For months, the numbers of applications had been badly lagging for the
state-funded financial aid that low-income undocumented students can
use for public and private colleges and universities in California. INSIDE THIS ISSUE

However, with a flurry of media coverage, counseling efforts and

high-profile messages from legislators in Sacramento, the number of
Dream Act applications totaled 35,882 by the March 2 deadline. Resources ....................... 4
That is 5 percent, or 1,713 more, than last year. The number of new Upcoming Events..5
applicants, 13,155, were just nine below last years ,while the renewals,
22,727, topped last years by 1,762.

LEGAL AID
Provides low-cost services for DACA first-time and renewal applicants, including form
completion and submission, guidance, and information sessions. DACA first-time applicants
go through a three step process, and must first go to an orientation before booking an
appointment. No appointment is needed for DACA Renewal Applicants, walk-ins are accepted
Monday-Friday 9am-3pm. Please call or visit website for more information.
Creando Nuevo Futuro (CNF) is currently being established and will soon host its first
meeting.
CNF is a student club that will serve as a safe space for undocumented youth and allies to support one
another and build community.
