Numbers Surpass Last
Years
A campaign to alleviate undocumented students anxieties produced a
last-minute rush of applications for California Dream Act college grants
and brought the total to slightly higher than last years, officials said

For months, the numbers of applications had been badly lagging for the
state-funded financial aid that low-income undocumented students can

OPEN TO UNDOCUMENTED STUDENTS
[Deadline: 3/31/17] Chicana Latina Foundation Scholarship This is a
$1,500 scholarship opportunity open to Latina college students living in
California.

[Deadline: 4/1/17] IRT Summer Workshop The summer program includes


lectures, writing conferences, films, and presentations. Students also prepare
for the GRE and begin to work on their statements of purpose. Summer
workshop participants receive a $1,200 stipend, travel expenses (for those
traveling by plane or train), and room and board.

[Deadline: 4/1/17] Davis-Putter Scholarship This $10,000 scholarship is


for undergraduate and graduate students who are active in social justice
movements.

LIFE SKILLS CENTER

The Life Skills Center (LSC) is LAHCs mental health service


site on campus. The mission of the LSC is to provide
psychological counseling and related services to LAHC
students.

The goal is to enable LAHC students to meet the personal,


familial, and environmental challenges and pressures which
can interfere with the ability to succeed academically and
personally.

Provides low-cost services for DACA first-time and renewal applicants, including form

go through a three step process, and must first go to an orientation before booking an
