SLIOC PROJECT- TANZANIA:

I am Ludovick Philemon Chahally. I am both a human rights advocate and philanthropist. I run a small
non governmental, non profit organization called SLIOC which is an acronym for Saint Ludovick Institute
Of Charity whose aims are to assist children with albinism and others in risky circumstances, mainly
those with disability. I am in Mwanza, Tanzania.
How/ why did i dream of SLIOC? As a philanthropist, i carried my own intensive and systematic research
and survey in the Lake Zone region of Tanzania to ascertain the fate of people with albinism and those
with disability respectively. My research came out with the following findings:
1) most children with albinism in the remote areas, do not attend school due to fear of their lives.
2) most families with albinism, do not fully engage in various economic activities due to fear of losing
their lives.
3) most people with albinism and others with disability, do not have access to proper medical facilities
due to inaccessibility.
4) the notion that albino body parts bring luck and wealth to people, is still there and rampant, hence
intensifying the fear among the PWA.
5) most children with disability do not have access to education due to discrimination.
So i comparatively analyzed the situation and subsequently, vowed to intervene through the Grace of
God.
SLIOC intends to build a centre which will:
> 1) provide a temporary shelter for the desperate children with albinism and others with disability.
> 2) provide education, psycho social support and holistic materials to these innocent children.
> 3) be a resource station whereas members of the public will have access to education on albinism and
other forms of disability.
> 4) host a mobile dispensary to cater for medical facilities to people with disability wherever they are.
> 5) be holding various seminars and advocacy meetings to educate the mass to refrain from
maltreating children with disability and the ritual killings on people with albinism.
So far, my organization has a mutual partnership with the London based organization SEN World which
will provide teachers, curriculum and training for staff upon the completion of the centre.
As the attached plan indicates, the construction of the centre is behind the scheduled time frame, but
this has highly been attributed by lack of funds.
I do hereby humbly beg and appeal to Good Samaritans, well wishers, humanitarians, human rights
advocates and philanthropists to come to my aid so that i fulfill this call God Has called me for. It is my
sincere hope that some good-hearted people, will surely respond positively and be a part in the changes
to these fellow children of God. I am ready and willing to co operate with anybody and provide evidence
of the government's approval of my project.

> NB: The estimates indicated in the attached plan, are just proposals as suggested by the quantity
surveyor. They are not realistic, meaning they are not actual costs . Any changes and adjustments as far
as the project is concerned, are highly welcomed.
