This activity was one of the five centers created for the SKs to
participate in, and it was also a follow up of the CH and SH
hungry bins activity previously implemented. The Supervisor
asked me to lead this activity and introduce it to the children.
SH and CH colour follow up
3 objectives
- (9.1) Use reading behaviors to make sense of familiar
and unfamiliar texts in print (use pictures)
- The children will be able to explore different elements of
design by using two different colours (31.3)
- They will also be able to explore sounds and language
structures by learning that different letters make
different sounds and have different meanings (1.1)
Materials used
- 6 pictures with SH words
- 6 pictures with CH words
- 2 labeled bins
- a blue and green crayon
Step-by-step Description
I will be having a group of students with me at the table and I
will be asking the children one by one what picture am I
holding, what sound is it, as well as which bin it will go in to.
After they have figured out which right bin it goes in to, I will
ask them if the shirt with that picture will be coloured blue for
CH or green for SH. This will be repeated until all of the
pictures are coloured and all of the pictures have been put in the
right bin.
