INTRODUCTION
As we know, oil and gas is the most popular fuel in industrial age. We cant deny that the world needs oil
and gas for human life, it makes oil and gas became the greatest prospect for companies. But since 2014, the world
knows that oil price is declining. Thus it makes many oil companies got some economic problem and need to cut a lot
of cost, starting from production, exploration, drilling, until number of employees. Lately, companies require low cost
for drilling onshore and offshore, for that reason, rig constructor needs to make their rig more efficient in every
aspect.
From information above, we Espargo Corp. will design a rig that suits the most for this case. We call it
MINERVA Rig. The following features are shown below:
1. Our rig has extraordinary specification with minimize price.
2. Minerva equipped with huge additional power up to 2.3 MW
3. It has special feature to use for any kind of problems like total lost circulation, we provide managed pressure
drilling equipment and etc.
4. Despite of all good technology for drilling, our rig still priority about safety, we will ensure that Minerva have good
technologies for HSE

Consideration of choosing material for designing semi - submersible rig it is an essential basic to build up a rig
for extraction and production in a long term and huge project. To ensure the drilling process we present
ESPARGO RIG which constructed with Carbon Manganese Steel Plate . The carbon-manganese steels, whose
primary chemical components are carbon and manganese in addition to iron, thesubstance content in carbon
steels is often increased for the purpose of increasing depth of hardening and improving strength and toughness
and resistance of corrosion.

HEX PUMP
Based on that encouraging experience, we
developed the system as a stand-alone
module to add to the existing hex pump
control system. Slightly simplified, it consists
of the following components: accelerometers
(one per valve block), a proximity sensor
picking up pump speed and phase, a
discharge pressure sensor, an embedded
monitoring system (CompactRIO with NI 9234
acquisition modules for powering the
accelerometers and acquiring high frequency
data), signal processing software and alarm
logics, software running on the CompactRIO
monitoring system, and an HMI user interface.
Advantages:
o Capture high-rate data (25 kHz sample rate) from all sensors during a short time interval covering at least
one pump cycle
o Bandpass filter the acceleration signals to minimize the influence from ambient pump vibrations
o Analyze the timing signal to find pump speed and cam angle
o Normalize the vibration levels through division by the median vibration level
o Set a leak alarm if one or more of the normalized vibration levels exceed a specified threshold during a
certain time interval
Based on the field experience of the new leak detection system, we concluded that our leak detection method offers
many advantages over current practices, including the following:
o High sensitivity for early leak detection and localization
o Remote, continuous, and computer-based pump monitoring Increased safety through less human exposure
to hazardous environments
o Multiple leak detection and localization (in hex pumps)
o Reduced maintenance time and cost because leaky valve(s) are localized before the valve exchange jobs
start.

CONTINUOUS CIRCULATION SYSTEM
Basically circulation system are closely related with drilling fluid that has function to lift up the cutting from the
bottom to the surface in order to prevent stuck, then drill fluid (Mud) is used to balance the reservoirs pressure
in order to prevent the blow out. At last but not least the drilling fluid has to be circulated quickly to reduce the
operational cost and accelerate the drilling processes.
Lopaka Natantis rig has installed the continuous circulation system to accelerate the drilling process and also to
minimize the cost of the rig, continuous circulation system refers to the concept of allowing mud to the borehole
continuously while connecting the drill pipe.
Advantages:
o Reduce drilling duration
o Fewer stuck pipe incident
o Reduces reservoir and hole damage
o Lower drilling cost
o Increase production due to less reservoir damage
o Reduce the possibility of kick
20
MUD CUBE
The MudCube uses a combination of high air flow and
vacuum pulled through a rotating screen (filter belt) rather
than the high g forces and vibration used by the standard
shakers to separate mud and solids. This technology is
proven to have higher levels of solids removal efficiency,
which in turn reduces the volume of drilling fluid lost,
minimizes the tonnage of waste generated, and raises
drilling fluid performance, which all contribute to an overall
reduction in cost.

SOLAR PANEL
Despite of using diesel as a prime mover, Lopaka Natantis also using solar panelas a secondary mover to
produce additional power to supply electrical energy which is used for housing purpose. We use
SunPower as a solar panel in LopakaNatantis.Solar panels can convert 24.1% of solar energy to power,
compared with around 17% for a standard solar technology product, making them the most efficient in the
world. Whats more, SunPower has developed a robotic solar panel cleaning system to maintain optimum
performance. This system is quicker and more efficient than traditional methods: it uses 75%2 less water
and operates at night to maintain total panel efficiency during the day.

CONDUCTOR SHARING WELLHEAD
Conductor Sharing Wellhead (CSW) systems allow for multiple wells to be drilled from a single platform slot. Up
to three dual-completion wells can be drilled from a single slot, resulting in savings up to 20% on individual well
costs and a reduction in platform size for added savings. The CSW system is available in 9, 11, and 13-5/8
nominal sizes with working pressures to 10,000 psi. This system is suitable for moderate to severe working
environments.
39
DESIGN FEATURES AND BENEFITS
40
A DP 3 system has an extended hardware
configuration compared to a DP 2 system. The
triple redundant DP controller is still used and a
minimum of three operator stations is required.
There will also be three I/O units to interface
components, as opposed to a double set of
sensors typically used in a DP 2 configuration. A
DP 3 system also needs a physically separate,
fire-safe compartment where one control
computer, one operator station and one sensor
I/O unit have to be located in order to comply
with Class 3 requirements. Loss of position
should not occur from any single failure including
a completely burnt fire sub division or flooded
watertight compartment.
41
Dynamic positioning requires the vessel to have a
number of thrusters, or powered propellers, throughout
the vessel. These thrusters are located on the front
and back, as well as both sides of the vessel, in order
to maintain position from every direction. Sometimes
mooring and dynamic positioning are used together to
keep the vessel on position.
