OUR STORY
Large cities cant support cars anymore. There is no space to park, too much time is lost in traffic jams, not
to mention the stress and pollution caused by those vehicles. This problem is only getting worse as the
population continues to increase. The only way to solve that problem is to integrate public transportation with
personal light electric vehicles.

Hugo Dourado, a brazilian inventor, was travelling between Belgium and Netherlands when one of those
huge garages with thousands of bikes caught his attention. He asked himself: Why do people have to leave
their vehicles before they get on the train? And how do they get from the next station to work? Something is
missing in this process. That is when an idea came to him.

Different from a foldable electric bike that can be big, heavy and not very useful when folded, he thought on
something simple, fashionable that could be taken anywhere, whether it be a classroom or even an office.
That is why Hugo started to develop the Movpak, working exclusively, everyday along with his team: the
Engineer Felipe Junquilho, the Creative Director Ivo Machado and the logistic manager Adam Moon. Together
they created the first Backpack and Portable Electric Vehicle. A personal vehicle that can carry all you need
for the day and solve the last mile problem.

The result of this project achieved 412% on its Indiegogo campaign, and built at Foxconn, the worlds largest
electronics manufacturer, its now ready and set to be the best solution for the urban commuter.

Congratulations on acquiring your own Movpak. It can carry everything you need, doubling as a personal
electric vehicle capable of speeds up to 15 mph, and a range of 6 miles per charge.

SAFETY WARNINGS
Do not use Movpak until you read and thoroughly understand this Owners Manual.
It contains information that is critical to your safety. Failure to follow any of these
instructions could result in serious injury or even death.

Always wear protective gear including knee, elbow, and wrist guards, shoes and
an approved safety helmet when riding your Movpak.

Riding Movpak barefoot can cause serious injury, especially when leaving the Movpak
under an emergency. Always wear tight, firm, comfortable shoes.

Only use Movpak on paved surfaces or on gentle slopes. Do not use on dirt, sand,
steep slopes, or slippery surfaces. Use caution when going down hill.

Do not ride your Movpak in environments, on inclines, or at speeds where you would not
be safely in control of an unpowered skateboard. In the event of wireless interference or
battery fault, you may need to rely on skating techniques like footbraking or sliding to stop.

Do not ride under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any controlled substances.

Avoid riding under unfavorable conditions such as poor visibility, narrow spaces, extremely
hot or freezing temperatures, or wet weather.
9
SAFETY WARNINGS
Keep fingers, hair, and clothing away from belts, motors,
wheels, and all moving parts.

Hills and high speed can be very dangerous because crashes can cause serious injuries.
Be extra careful when pushing the limits of the board, even if youre an experienced rider.

Cars and other vehicles can kill you, so always be aware of your surroundings
when riding in the presence of other vehicles. Ride defensively and assume other
vehicles cant see you.

Riding in wet conditions or through puddles can damage permanently the boards
electronics or and cause the board to lose power or stop suddenly, causing a risk of loss of
control or falls.

Be aware of the laws that govern the use of your board on public roads, bike paths,
sidewalks, or other places that you may ride.

Please ride responsibly and respect those around you. How you ride will determine
how people view this new mode of transportation.

THE MOVPAK
#MOVPAK IS AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE

Learning how to ride a Movpak is actually much easier than any other board sports. First of all, Movpak is a
transportation, not a sport. Safety and easiness is a priority here. It has a motor, with brakes, that prevents the
Movpak from sliding when you get on.

30
THE MOVPAK
With three points of balance, you can press your
foot and calf against the rear part of the backpack,
providing you added support, stability and more
balance, as you use your calf to make turns, just
leaning forwards and backwards.

Please ride responsibly and respect those around

you and always be aware of your surroundings.
How you ride will determine how people view this
new mode of transportation.

Move: While standing firmly and comfortably,

push the center button of your remote control
forwards. Your Movpak will now move and
continue to accelerate as long as you have the
button pushed forward.

To brake, pull the throttle in the opposite direction

of travel. If youre moving forward, pull back on
the throttle button. The brakes are regenerative,
which means it will recharge your battery every
time you brake.

31
THE MOVPAK
Headlights: With powerful headlights in the front and back, we make sure that you can see whats
ahead and be seen by the other commuters. Riding in the dark can be safe and comfortable!
Just press the headlight button on Movpaks control panel.

32
THE MOVPAK
#TRUCKS

In order for the wheel to not damage your device, it

is necessary to adjust the central bolt of the truck.
The adjustment will depend on the users weight
and taste. Tighten or loosen the center screw until
the wheel does not touch the backpack when you
make a turn.

The looser the bolt is, the greater the radius of the
curve. The tighter, the lower the radius of the curve.
Never leave it loose to the point where the wheel
touches the backpack or frame, which may damage
your product or cause an accident.
