FLUID COMPOSITION

Shuaiba (refer page 22 of BFD) composition is saturated at reservoir conditions (120 barg &80
C )
Condensate is adjusted to 30 m3/MMSCMD and minimum free water (10m3/MMSCMD) is
added to the composition as conservative case for depressurisation/pressurisation.

Assumptions

20 barg back pressure is assumed but it will be confirmed during hydraulics.

Upstream of the choke valve, minimum FTHT is considered minimum temperature as a
conservative case.

Assumptions

16 mm orifice is considered. However orifice diameter in the mobile vent unit shall be confirmed
by PDO.
HIPPS set point is considered as 95 barg. Settle out pressure will be 85.3 bara. Settle out

Settle out pressure of the pipeline will be less than the 9600 Kpa. However 9600 kPa initial pressure is
considered as conservative case.

The table above shows using a steady state pipesim model, the temperature observed at the beginning
of the pipeline section is 6 deg C, at a controlled flowrate. During Pressurisation the flow is to be
controlled via the choke valve at 0.03 and 0.05 MMSCMD, respectively, in order to maintain a
temperature at the beginning of the pipeline section above 5 Deg C.

The fluid temperature contained within the below ground pipeline, downstream of the choke is 20 Deg
C. In reality, during pressurisation, the well fluid would mix with the 20 Deg C nitrogen (bulk volume of
10.5 km pipeline), resulting in much higher temperatures at the start of the pipeline section. This type of
modelling can only be performed using transient analysis and would result in far more conservative
results.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Minimum temprature observed upstream of the vent line oriifice is -4.99 C during well pad
piping depressurisation for most consreravtive case . Well pad piping design tempratuire is -29
C. Hence,There is no concern.
Minimum temparture observed upstream of the mobile vant unit orifiice is 11.9C during
pipeline depressuriation . Pieline minimum design temprature is 5C. Hence ,there is no concern.
During black start-up, presuriation shall be slow, which is iline with the current paractice.
During normal operation minimum temprature oserved dowmsream of the choke valve is
11.59C.Hence it is not a concern as minimum design temparture of the pipeline is 5 C.
