for any Ph.D position in your institute . I have recently completed my Masters in Electrical
Engineering (Network engineering) from a well reputed Institution COMSATS Institute of
Information Technology, Pakistan.

In my MS thesis, I investigated depth-based routing problem with Underwater Wireless

Sensor Networks. I made a detailed literature survey of existing routing techniques and
discussed their relative merits and demerits. More particularly, I attempted to propose new
methods to overcome deficiencies like low stability period and high delay specifically by
exploiting the mobility of courier nodes. Based on the residual energy and the depth
information of sensor nodes, I obtained new metrics to ensure an enhanced network lifetime
and reduced transmission losses. I also suggested methods to avoid unnecessary data
forwarding and overloading low-depth nodes. My research interests are broad; I have done
some work related to communication in WSNs. I am particularly interested in WSNs and
UWSNs.

I also have six research publications on WSNs and UWSNs. Three publications have
been accepted and published in international journals (ISI-IF=0. 92). These are related to
novel communication schemes in WSN and UWSNs. Other three publications have been
published in international conferences. My seventh paper is also ready to submit. I want to
start my PhD at University of Oxford under your supervision. I would be honored if I could
join your team.
