Hi friends,

Have you experienced when you thought an event or a date or a time at church you
thought was going to be not good turned out very good and vice versa? God had started
me off Sunday with a song as I was going to the church: “Fill My Cup”. Such sure
happened from the sermon and afterwards in forms of confirmations from the guest
preacher. I almost did not want to go hear him at the church Danara had suggested I go
to. The previous Sunday, the Pastor of the church said that Dr. Asore wanted to anoint all
of us and I thought he would do a personal prayer and have a word of knowledge or
prophecy for each of us. But he only put oil on the forehead any who came forward and
send a general prayer for all of us. After the service, he did the same for the children. His
sermon before was on the second passage of two passages I formatted Saturday night in
the "all" Bible study tool and I used that passage to respond to someone who claimed that
Harold was wrong about God the Father resurrecting Jesus Christ. Out of the whole
Bible he chose that passage.

The guest preacher first began in Revelation 2:3-5, the letter from Jesus Christ to the
Ephesus church:
“3 And you have persevered and have patience,
and have labored for My name's sake,
and have not become weary.
4 Nevertheless I have this against you,
that you have left your first love.
5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen,
and repent and do the first works,
or else I will come to you quickly,
and will remove your lampstand out of its place,
unless you repent.”

Dr. Asore said that most Christian pastors stopped loving and knowing God. He said
most professing Christians need to know God by reading the Bible more. And he said that
the name of Jesus Christ could change our situation.

Then he read the following that I had formatted the evening before:
Ephesians 1:15-23
“15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of
after I heard of your faith in The Lord Jesus,
and love to all the saints,
16 cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17 that The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, The Father Of Glory,
may give to you The Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him:
18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that you may know
what is the hope of His calling,
and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe,
according to the working of His mighty power,
20 which He wrought in Christ when
He raised Him from the dead,
and set Him at His own right hand in the Heavenly places,
21 far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion,
and every name that is named,
not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

1
22 and has put all things under His feet,
and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 which is His body,
the fullness of Him that fills all in all.

His five main points exhortations in expounding on that passage were:

1.) We should be getting better knowledge of God (personal, not just intellectual)
2.) Seeing God, helps us to see our real selves. He bought up Isaiah 6:1-5 and the
Saul/Paul report in Acts 9.
3.) We have a need for spiritual maturity with the help of God’s resurrection power.
4.) We should be doing brotherly love.
5.) We should learn and know the inheritance and the glory of God.

After the sermon, I thought of an encore or extra bonus related to it would be Ephesians
3:14-21.
“For this cause I bow my knees unto The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
of Whom the whole family in Heaven and Earth is named,
that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory,
to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man;
that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith;
that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
may be able to comprehend with all saints
what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
and to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge,
that you might be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now unto Him Who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that works in us,
unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages,
world without end. Amen.”

The elderly preacher was not a wild charismatic giving personal prophecies and
anointing; he had similar concerns about current Christianity as I do. He is like me and
about the same age. He is Dr. Simon B. Asore of Ghana. He is now founder and leader of
Centre for Pastoral Excellence and Conflict Resolution. Later in two conversations we
were so glad to discover that we had similar concerns and beliefs. And I might be doing a
similar ministry as he is eventually. He was the Assembly of God President in Ghana and
has had other top positions, but quit in 2001 because of his concerns about current
Christianity. He said that most pastors don’t really know God and most “Christians” are
not Bible students or repenting to righteousness. I did not get home until about 4:30 PM,
because I had good talks with others too.

Also, during the prep service before, the Holy Spirit gave me two Bible study assignments
for Monday. They should be quick ones. "full of", "fill me", "complete" for one and
"soul" for the other one. If you would like them, let me know.

Onward for whatever God wants,

Bill
