Seconds Before Flood Terrible in Garut

GARUT, KOMPAS.com - Flash floods in Garut that occurred on Wednesday (21/09/2016) early this
morning looks terrible. This event can be witnessed by those who are from the plateau.
"I see it clearly like the waves of the tsunami, very big, I am positioned above in this Cimanuk Street, the
direct flood to the lowland around Tarogong Kidul, precisely toward the hospital," said Fikri Imanudin
(36), which trades midnight around Jalan Cimanuk, Garut, Wednesday (21/09/2016).
"There is the location of the settlement below and right beside Cimanuk River Cimanuk River Bridge to
the bottom of the river there is about 15 meters and wide.It can be imagined that the water
overflowing is very big, if only the cipratannya only, but still there is big water going into this way, "Fikri
continued.

When the incident, Fikri claimed to be around the intersection Cimanuk or not far from the bridge
Cimanuk RSUD dr Slamet direction and Garut Regent Office. He admitted surprised when he saw big
water clumps close the bridge and the road to Garut Hospital whose position decreased or under Jalan
Cimanuk.
The area is a densely populated area and inhabited by thousands of residents up to the regent's office.
"To the south it is a valley, so the area that splits Cimanuk River in the city of its position is valley and
below than any other area in Garut, that is Tarogong Kidul area," he said.

Fikri confessed to fear and chose to look for others to see the moment when roads, houses, and other
buildings were hit by floods. In fact, before, the area was crowded traffic, though midnight. This area is
often jammed during the day.
"If the day is very jammed at this location (traffic flow on) the now destroyed (usually) dense trails, the
night was like a lake, covered with water," he said.

Another eyewitness, Deni (54), from Cidaun, Garut, admitted crossing the intersection of Cimanuk,
Garut, last night. He panicked because he saw the area is crowded everyday by the residents and the
traffic flow is jammed it is now covered with water that overflows from Cimanuk River that divides
urban areas of Garut.
"I do not know tonight what to do here, it's like the sea, sir," he said.
Until now the area in Garut City direction Regent Office via Cimanuk Street paralyzed. The search for
victims was still done after the flash floods last night. The victims who died and were injured were
immediately taken to Dr Slamet Hospital, Garut, and placed on the second floor for fear of aftershocks
going to happen again.
Mount Bromo Forest Fires Difficult to Extinguish

people seriously injured.

In the Taipei City capital, all work types and schedules of teaching classes were canceled on Saturday
nights and throughout Sunday. The city also stopped garbage collection services, bicycle rental services,
and changed its subway schedule.

Taiwan's international carrier Eva Airways Corp said it had canceled 42 round-trip flights, which would
affect nearly 10,000 passengers.

Cities and counties across the island cancel jobs and classes on Sundays as well.

The flow of electricity to about half a million homes has been put out. On Sunday morning, the
government said it had restored about 360,000 households.

In China's Fujian province, more than 3,100 people were evacuated to shore from fish farms to prepare
for the impact of hurricanes, the official Xinhua state media said.

The storm is expected to hit mainland China early on Sunday, and heavy rain is expected until
Wednesday.

Landslide Disaster Occurs in Hamlet Dlopo Nganjuk
