Standard Drawings

Document Responsibility: Standards Coordinator

General Information

Saudi Aramco Standard Drawings are a special type of engineering drawing that is pre-
approved by Saudi Aramco Management for use throughout the Company. They
provide uniformity in design, procurement, fabrication and installation of materials and
equipment in Company facilities. Their use is considered mandatory, to the extent
indicated by specific Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAESs) and Saudi Aramco
Materials System Specifications (SAMSSs). References to SAESs or SAMSSs may
sometimes be included to assist drawing users.

Standard Drawings can be incorporated by engineers and design contractors into project
drawing packages for the construction of new facilities, or the modification of existing
facilities. Standard Drawings can also be selected by material and equipment specifiers
for attachment to requisitions and purchase orders. Use of these drawings produce a
number of cost-effective benefits, including reduction of drafting time and effort,
increase of the use of commonly available materials, and provide assistance to
construction contractors and inspectors that handle many similar installations.

The copies of the Standard Drawings in DeskTop Standards are unsigned, and only for
reference information. To obtain signed copies of Standard Drawings for use in
construction or maintenance work, contact Engineering Drawing Services Division,
Saudi Aramco, Dhahran.

For a complete listing of approved Standard Drawings, refer to the folder in DeskTop
Standards labeled "Standard Drawings". For additional information on the preparation,
approval, or use of Standard Drawings, see SAEP-110 or the Saudi Aramco Drafting
Manual.
