2) Directional Arrow

Flow direction arrows shall be painted in the vicinity of branching-off connections,

at the inlet branch connections downstream of each valve, dampers and at
points which will be indicated by the Engineer on site. The flow direction shall be
indicated by black paint.

3) Location of Color Bands

a) Pipes

Color bands shall be applied to pipe immediately inside and outside of buildings,
adjacent to and on both sides of walls or partitions, and in other location as
necessary to further identify systems and maintain uniformity. Band shall be
applied at not more than 50m intervals (100m intervals on the pipe rack).at
branches in pipework, pumps and control valves.

4) Color Code Sketch for Piping System (Example)

a) Identification band, legend and directional arrow shall be indicated on

each pipe at suitable position as following figure.

b) Identification Band

D DN 100 W = 50 mm

DN 100 < D DN 400 W = D/2

D DN 400 W = 200 mm

* Note: D = Nominal Pipe Size

5) Secondary Colors

The narrow strip presenting the secondary color which identifies the specific
material may be applied by painting or preferably by use of adhesive plastic
tapes of the correct color.
