About This Hands-On Lab

The IAB Dynamix Condition Monitoring Lab exercise shows how to add Dynamix Condition Monitoring
modules to your IAB configurations.

In this hands-on session, you will:

Add Dynamix modules to an IAB configuration via drag & drop.
Add Dynamix modules to an IAB configuration via New Hardware.
Configure the way a Dynamix assembly is connected to DeviceNet.

This hands-on lab is intended for all users of IAB. You should be familiar with IAB basic operation before
doing this lab.

Lab Materials

You need only IAB v 9.6.x or higher to complete this lab exercise.

Document Conventions

Throughout this manual, we use the following conventions to guide you through the lab materials:
Style or Symbol Indicates
Words in Bold Italics An item or button that you must click on or a menu name
from which you must choose an option or command. This
will be the actual name of an item that you see on your
screen or in an example.

Words or phrases in italics and single An item that you must type in the specified field. This
information must be supplied based on the application
quotes
(e.g., a variable).

Note: When you type the text in the field, remember that
you only need to type the word(s) within the quotes.
Supplemental information appears in gray boxes. These
items are not required to complete the lab exercises, but
Text in a gray box they may help you gain a better understanding of how IAB
works & how to efficiently use it.

Note: If the mouse button is not specified in the text, use the left button.

IAB Program Directory

Newer versions of IAB are installed in C:\Program Files\PST\RA_IAB. In some cases, you may have IAB
installed in C:\Program Files\RA_IAB instead. If this is the case, please replace all references to
C:\Program Files\PST\ in this document with C:\Program Files\.
