study these new words I use gestures to be understood, showing the class a pile of
flashcards that will illustrate the vocabulary of the day.

Purpose:To further expose learners to the target language, foster comprehension.

speak all together first and at the same time I provide them the new vocabulary and
model the pronunciation with each card. We can practicce the words in small groups of
5 vocabulary items and repeat them until the class can remember at least 3 of the words
without teachers modeling.

going to work on the The Five Senses Book.

Observations The idea of working with the sense of sight is great.
Revise the context that you are using to teach new words. The words
are actually presented in isolation, there is no link among them. Why
don`t you invent a story? For example, you may say you were on a car
trip and those were the things you saw. You could take a toy car, some
binoculars and realia. To make it more challenging (and game-like),
you may just show them a little part of the objects and ask the
students to tell you what they can see (at the practice stage).
These are just some ideas you may take into account for this lesson
and for further ones.
Best,
Aure
