Moses. Some would refer to him as a hero and others a rebel. Though in my eyes I view him

as a bonafide leader. His story was told in the Exodus but starts in the Genesis with the story of

Abraham and his family with whom God makes a covenant. With the help of God, Moses leads

the Hebrews to safety and writes the ten commandments. Moses has done many great things to

help his people, but has struggled to be successful. He struggled by being separated from his

family, leading the sons to Israel where there was no water, and destroyed the ten

commandments. His struggling helped him to develop his character and become stronger. The

development as a character leads him to be a more prosperous leader for the Hebrew people.

Personally, my family is my support system. Various characters in history have their families

to help pick them back up when they fall. Moses did have a family, technically he had two

families, his adoptive and birth. In the beginning of Moses, the Pharaoh declares a new law that

puts Moses in danger, sayingWhen you serve as midwife to the Hebrew women and see them

upon the if it is a son you shall kill him;. Moses being the first born male son in his family was

in danger of being murdered, but the midwives disobeyed and let the children live. Moses

mother had put Moses into hiding for three months and then put him into the Nile River where he

flowed into the arms of the Pharaohs daughter. His whole life he was raised by people who were

never his actual family, yet his mother had been wet nursing him whole childhood. When

thought about we understand that if his birth family had not given him up he would have never

been in the correct location and protection to save the Hebrew people.

Not only did Moses leave his birth family, he also had to leave behind his adoptive family

behind. After he grew older he had when out of the palace to find one of the Egyptians beating a

Hebrew. He asks the Egyptian why he is beating the Hebrew and he answers back saying Who

made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?.

When the Pharaoh heard of the new he decided that Moses was to be killed. Moses then fled to

Land of Midian. Once again he was put in danger of being murdered, and this time it would be

hard for him to avoid being killed. Though he did and survived to continue on and helps his

people.

In the end of his story, Moses did not get killed by the Pharaoh and escaped from Egypt,

leading his people to Israel. Once he had led them to safety God had rules for how he wanted

them to live so Moses had to reach the top of the mountain to speak with God. So Moses climbed

up the mountain to hear from God once again. This time around God told Moses, "Go down to

the people and tell them not to follow you up the mountain, is a special place because I am

here."So Moses warned the people not to touch or go to close to the mountain. After walking

down the mountain to tell the people this he had to venture back up. This time around he had to

stay for forty days and forty nights. Though if Moses had not destroyed the ten commandments,

he would not have had to spend the time on the mountain so he had created the problem for

himself.

Moses has been tested throughout his life many times. A lot of these tests led to his distress

and made his life evidently more difficult. At the end he still came out on top, leading his people

to safety and helping God carry out the 10 commandments. Which in conclusion leads us to

believe that when becoming successful you will need to overcome many obstacles and struggles,

and Moses was strong enough to do so.
