Compare and contrast between 4G and LTE technology

4G Wireless Systems or Fourth generation wireless system is a packet switched wireless system with wide
area coverage and high throughput. Two forms of 4G been developed and are in use: WiMAX and LTE. The
first LTE network was deployed in Scandinavia in 2009.

Long-Term Evolution (LTE) is a standard for high-speed wireless communication for mobile phones and
data terminals, based on the GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA technologies.

4G LTE
4G is the successor to the 3g technology which LTE is an upgraded version of 4g which means Long
means 4th generation Term Evolution
Devices that support 4g does not always support Devices that support LTE technology always support
LTE technology 4g technology
In reality, 4g networks can download data at 3 to 8 In reality, LTE networks can download data at 5 to
megabits per second 12 megabits per second
The 4g can be found almost everywhere in LTE networks are still under construction and so it
developed countries because the infrastructure has has less coverage than the 4g
already been built.
4k videos if being watched in 4G networks require 4k videos will need no buffering because the speed
buffering of LTE is much higher than usual 4g networks
Devices having 4g connectivity will have higher Devices having LTE connectivity have higher
battery usage than devices having 3g connectivity battery usage than devices having 4g connectivity

What do you mean by 5g technology ? What are its challenges ?

5g Technology: 5th generation mobile networks, abbreviated 5G, is the proposed next telecommunications
standards beyond the current 4G/IMT-Advanced standards. 5G planning aims at higher capacity than current
4G, allowing a higher density of mobile broadband users, and supporting device-to-device, ultra reliable
connection with lower battery consumption.
There is currently no standard for 5G deployments but it will be built on the foundation created by 4g LTE.
It should be rolled out by 2020. 5G will increase download speeds up to 10 gigabits per second and it will
probably have the frequency band up to 6 GHz.

challenge of 5g technology:
1. 5g technology will require users to use newer devices that support 5g network connections. So users
have to buy new smartphones to support 5g
2. The initial coverage for 5g will be very low compared than the current coverage of 3g and 4g
networks.
3. New infrastructure must be build across the country to enable 5g networks.
4. 5g technology will have significant download and upload speed. So users having limited data
package will not be able to use 5g the best possible way. In fact, in most cases 5g connection will
require users to buy more data package.
5. 5g will use higher frequency but higher frequency signals don't travel as far as lower frequencies. So
it will probably need multiple input and output antennas (MIMOs) which might affect the battery
consumption of smartphones.

Describe the Critical Success Factors for Mobile phone industry in Bangladesh.

To determine the success factors of mobile phone industry in Bangladesh one should conduct two
interrelated activities:

1. The boundaries of the industry: The boundaries of the cell phone industry in Bangladesh are as follows-
Customer segment: Customer of the industry is growing day by day in consecutive way. More than
10 million customers are available.
The technology in meeting customer need: The technology in the industry is very highly used in
efficient way. The modern and latest technologies are available in the industry.

2. The structure of the industry- Understanding the competition requires an appropriation of the industry
structure. The structure of the mobile phone industry in Bangladesh is as followed:

Barriers to entry and exit- As any private company can enter, its easy to enter and do its job. But its
difficult to get license in the long run process.
Level of product differentiation- Product is not very much different in this industry. They are almost
similar.
Level of concentration- the competitors concentration is also similar to get the more subscribers.
And in several situations the concentration is to keep the customer happy to be with company.
Economic of scale and exist- To identify the structure of the industry it is very important to know the
economic status of the competitors. Each company's economic status is very strong to fight within
the area.

The analysis has found the following critical success factors that are listed in the table:
