I. OBJECTIVE
At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to achieve at least 75% proficiency level
in the following behavior:
Cognitive : Identify straight and curve lines; and flat and curve surfaces on a 3-dimensional
object.
Psychomotor : Differentiate objects with straight and curved lines and objects with flat and
curve surfaces.
Affective : Enhance perception on 3-dimensional objects.
III. PROCEDURES
A. PREPARATORY ACTIVITIES

1. Review
Yesterday, you have discussed about tessellation.
Can you tell me what you have learned about
tessellation? Tessellation is tiling (covering) a
surface and forming patterns using
shapes.
What activities about tessellation did you do? We covered a surface of a paper using
different shapes.
What shapes did you use in tessellating surfaces? We used squares, rectangles and
triangles in tessellating surfaces.

B. DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES
1. Presentation/Discussion
Class, I am going to show you few objects. Tell me
what shape does it has and describe its lines and
surfaces.
How about this? Can you describe its shape? This object is triangle-shaped.
Does it has a straight or curve line? It has a straight line.
How about its surface? Is it flat or curve? It has a flat surface.
This object is called a PYRAMID.
Again, what is it? It is a Pyramid.
This is a glass.
It has curve lines and a
curve surface.
2. Group Activity
This time, we will have a group activity, I will group
you into three groups based from your seats. Before
the activity, may I ask, what are the standards to be
followed in doing a group activity?
Standards 1. Share your ideas. /Cooperate with the
group.
2. Read and follow directions carefully.
3. Work quietly.
4. Finish your work on time.
Distribution of Activity Sheets
I will give you few objects and a piece of manila
paper. You will follow the directions found in the
activity sheet I will give you.
Directions: Fill the table with correct information
from the object given to you.
Group 1: coke can, chocolate box, heart-shaped
chocolate, cube, dice, ball
Group 2: aquarium, dice, marble, chocolate bar,
notebook, globe
Group 3: pringles can, dice, ball, stamp box, gift
box, oblong-shaped coin bank

C. POST-ACTIVITY
1. Generalization
What characteristics of an object have we discussed
today? Lines and surface of objects.
Objects can have what kinds of line? Straight and curve lines.
How about surfaces, what kinds of surface can an
object have? It can be flat or curve surface.
IV. EVALUATION
Box the object with straight line and a flat surface. Encircle the objects with curve line
and curve surface.
V. ASSIGNMENT
Draw 2 objects with straight line and flat surface and 3 objects with curve line and curve
surface.
