The Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A

Vigil Mass: Saturday 21st October 2017

The Introductory Rites

Entrance Hymn

1. Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!

O my soul, praise him, for he is your health and salvation.
All you who hear, now to his temple draw near,
Join in profound adoration.
2. Praise to the Lord, above all things so mightily reigning.
Keeping us safe at his side, and so gently sustaining.
Have you not seen all you have needed has been
Met by his gracious ordaining?
3. Praise to the Lord, who will prosper our work and defend us;
Surely his goodness and mercy here daily attend us;
Ponder anew what the Almighty can do,
Who with his love will befriend us.
4. Praise to the Lord, O let all that is in me adore him!
All that has life and breath, come now in praises before him.
Let the Amen sound from his people again,
Now as we worship before him.

Offertory Hymn

1. My God, accept my heart this day,

3. Anoint me with thy heavnly grace,
And make it wholly thine,
And seal me for thine own,
That I from thee no more may stray,
That I may see thy glorious face,
No more from thee decline.
And worship at thy throne.
2. Before the cross of him who died,
4. Let every thought and work and word
Behold, I prostrate fall;
To thee be ever givn,
Let every sin be crucified,
Then life shall be thy service, Lord,
And Christ be all in all.
And Death the gate of heavn.
5. All glory to the Father be,
All glory to the Son,
All glory, Holy Ghost, to thee,
While endless ages run.

Communion Hymn

3. Rank on rank the host of heaven 4. At his feet the six-winged Seraph;
Spreads its vanguard on the way, Cherubim with sleepless eye,
As the Light of light descendeth Veil their faces to the Presence,
From the realms of endless day, As with ceaseless voice they cry,
That the powrs of hell may vanish Alleluya, alleluya,
As the darkness clears away. Alleluya, Lord most high!
