Project Directions: Story of Life

Objective: Explain the Theory of Evolution, the mechanism by which it is believed to

have worked, the evidence that supports it, and how it is consistent with Church
teaching.

Situation: A group of Catholic science teachers have asked you to write an illustrated
storybook explaining the theory of evolution to children aged 9-12. They are requesting
that specific concepts (outlined below) be emphasized and explained, so you will need
to become very familiar with those concepts! You are allowed to write it as an
adventure, a drama, a comedy, a comic book, a straightforward non-fiction book, or
any other genre you can think of. You can check in with your "editor" (Ms. OBrien )
from time to time to see if you're on the right track.
