EPIC

DEFINITION

An epic is a long narrative poem, ordinarily


concerning a serious subject containing details
of heroic deeds and events significant to a
culture or nation.
CHARACTERISTICS OF AN EPIC
Someone of noble birth
Performs deeds that require great courage
and strength
The setting is large.
Supernatural forces-gods,
angel, demons-insert
themselves in the action.
It is written in a very special
style (verse as opposed to
prose)
