INSTRUCTION MANUAL Hygro-Thermometer Introduction: This device measures relative humidity, ar temperature (with probe), plus "K” type thermocouple wide temperature measurements. The large, easy-to-read backllt LCD includes primary and secondary displays plus numerous status indicators, Careful use of tis meter wil provide years of reliable service. Features: * Semiconductor sensor for temperature measurements of O°C to 40°C and 32°F to 108°F plus ‘ype-k thermocouple wie tamperatue measurements of-20.0° to 1000°C and ~4.0 to 1832°F ‘Humidity measurement from 0.1%ERH to 100.0%5RH with 0.1%4RH resolution and fast time response. (The measuring range i fom 0% to 100%, but above 98% and below Si tre devon isnot specified) Fast response for Humity measurement Data Hold and MAX Hold function * Large dal digital LCD cisplay with function indication Specifications: Function Range and Resolution [ Accuracy Humidity 5.0 to 98.0% RH 3.5% RH Tomperture(Ktype) 20.010 199.8" (probe accuracy not included) | -20 to 1000°C 4.0 0 198.9°F 3.0% reading + 7A) 4 to 1832°F °£(8.0% reading + #0) Display: Dual LCD with Backight and staus Indicators Sensor Type: Humiiy: Precision capacitance sensor Temperature: Termistr(orobe) and type “K" thermocouple Response Time: Probe Temperature and Relative Humiiy: 3 minutes ‘Accuracy note: Accuracy is specified forthe following ambient temperature range 1B to 28°C (64 to 82°F) ‘Sampling Rate: 2.5 samoles per second Operating Conditions:0 to 50°C (32 to 122°; < 80% RH non-condensing Slorage Conditions: -10 to 60°C (14 10 140°F}; <80% AH non-condensing Power Supply: SV Battery with auto power off after 10 minutes) Dimensions / Weight: 5.92.8 x 1.4" (150 x72 x 35mm); (2109) Meter Description: 4.°K° type thermacoupe input jack 2 Humicty/Air Temperature Probe 3 Temperature measurement reading display 4Relatve Humidty measurement reading display 5 Power ON/OFF button 6 Thermometer measurement buttons (6) 7Relave Humidty function buttons (2) 8 Backight function buttons Display Layout: =1B8B°C'F Probe temperature *C/"F measurement reading MAX (1) Probe temperature °C/"F MAX Hold HOLD (1) Probe temperature °F Data Hold BBB %RH SRE measurement reading MAK (2) SAH MAX Hold HOLD (2) %SRH Data Hold a LOW batery indicator Operation: Power Press the & button to turn power on or of be Humidity and air Temperature Measurements 1 Hold the probe inthe area tobe tested & allow adequate time for readings to stabilize 2 Read the Relative Humidity (center of LCD) and Probe Temperature (top of LCD), NOTE: Do not immerse the probe in qui; tis intended for use in air on, ‘ype: K Thermocouple Temperature Measurements “Lifyou wish to measure temperature in oF se the function switch ta the oF range. I you wish to ‘measure temperature in 0C, set the function switoh tothe o€ range inset the Temperature Probe ina the Temperature Socket, making sure to abserve the correct polar 3 Touch the Temperature Probe head to the part whose temperature you wish to measure. Keep ‘the probe touching the part under test unl the reading stabilizes (about 30 second) Read the teeraure inthe espa. The dial reading wil indicate te proper decal point and value. WARNING: To avoid electic shock, be sur the thermocouple has been removed before changing to another measurement functon. ‘Automatic Power OFF To conserve battery Ife the meter automaticaly shuts off after 10 minutes °C or buttons The user can select the Temperature units. Press the °C or°F button at the center of the meter. 0.4 or t buttons 41.0.4 or 1 Temperature Resolution buttons atthe center ofthe meter 2. The thermometer alows two chalces of resolution: High resoluton: 0.1°C or 01°F Low resolution: 1°0 or °F Data Hold Buttons 4.Displays canbe held (frozen) at any time by pressing the HOLD button, For Temperature, use the HOLD bution onthe left For Relative Humidity, use the HOLD button on the under the button of the mete. 2.Press HOLD again to exit the mode. MAX Buttons 4.Press the MAX button to display only the highest reading. For Temperature, use the MAX button ‘on the let For Relative Humid, use the MAX button onthe unde the button ofthe meter 2.Press the MAX button agin to ext this mode. Backlight Display 1, Poss the backlight 2. Press again to tun itot button totum the display light on Maintenance Cleaning and storage 1The meter should be cleaned wih a damp citi and mid detergent when necessary. Do not use solvents or abrasives, 2,Stre the meter in an area with moderate temperature and humidity, Battery Replacement The battery symbol @ appears on the lower ri replaced. Replace the SV battery as follows: 4.Tur the meter off and disconnect the air temperature probe. 2.Remove the large fat-nead screw on the rear ofthe meter to remove te probe holder. '3.Remove the rubber hoster that surounds th enie meter by ling it over the topo the meter. ‘4 Remove the small Philips head screw on he rear ofthe meter 5.0pen the battary compartment and replace the SV battery. ‘Re-assemble the meter belore operating the LOD when the QV battery needs to be Rev. 090110
